Really?
That would be good for working in the front office of a basketball team.
Just overheard his Retirement Press Conference. Classy and Hilarious.
And no Brett Favre crying...
edit - He also retired all of his old nicknames. He is now The Big AARP.
Link?
I wonder how his legacy will be affected by all his moving around.
Most NBA players are associated with one team for their career, but Shaq doesn't have that association.
Classy guy too. Let's just hope that he doesn't start acting in more movies now.
Shaq should have a statue before Pistol. What happened college has nothing to do with the fact Shaq is probably top 5 all time in the NBA. He definately doesn't fall out of the top 7-8.
Since you quoted my post so I have to reply.
My previous was about LSU (college, not NBA) plan to errect a status of Shaq before Pistol.
Reading comprehension FTW? What college did you go to?
Did you see my followup post you annoying prick. Pistol Pete never graduated, that's why he probably doesn't have one. Prick
I'm fairly certain he's associated with the Lakers.I wonder how his legacy will be affected by all his moving around.

Ahh, can't debate, so name calling, so typical of UNclassy.
We are talking about college basketball here, not college graduation. Nice strawman. Again, what college did you go to?
Since you were the one that quoted my post, so I pzned your ass AGAIN.
BTW, when are you going to post the links/sources that I requested the last time you cried like a little bitch when I pzned your ass? What's that? Going to the mods and cry "racist" again?
LOL.
Hey mod(s). He quoted my post, I did not quote his. I were trying to avoid debating with morons like him with no skills except "racist" chant and name calling.
No comparison in college careers, either... Shaquille O'Neal may get his statue, outside the Maravich Assembly Center. An appropriate comparison of scale.I would think for YOU, you would exhibit some smarts. I guess you weren't in that line. Google, Pistol and you'll see he is not even in the LSU Hall of Fame because he never graduated. Which might be why he has no statue. Shaq graduated from LSU. One graduated and one didn't. Both great college players though. But no comparison in pro careers. Did you get that?

Obviously, you are not very bright so I will go s--l--o--w.
1. This thread is about basketball and player(s). NOT about college graduation.
2. While you are at it, do tell us what kind of degree Shaq got after years later.
3. You still have not answer my questions:
a) What college did you graduate from and in what field since you were the one that brought college education/smarts topic up for strawman purpose.
b) Where are you links and sources for the thread that I pwned your ass last time? What is the matter? Racists got you down, again?
Did you get all that or am I too much for you?....again. I am sorry but I can't go any slower than that. Hard for me to debate with people like you, mentally challenged.
Pete Maravich averaged over 44 points per game at LSU, playing without a three-point shot. After-thought? How many 40-point games did Shaquille O'Neal have in his entire LSU career?...But fact is Pistol was good, really good. But he is an after thought compared to Shaq...

LSU associate athletic director Herb Vincent said O'Neal was chosen for several reasons.
"He is LSU's only athlete (all sports) who was college player of the year and an MVP of his pro sport ," Vincent said. "He is also the most well known former LSU athlete worldwide. He graduated. He's still playing. Young people know him. That can help in recruiting. All those things factored into it."
Maravich did not graduate from LSU. Maravich can also not donate money to LSU. O'Neal has donated money in the past and has run a charity golf tournament and life skills program for LSU student-athletes throughout his pro career.
"We're honoring him for his accomplishments," Vincent said.
You took a shot at Shaq because the college mentioned he would get a statue or something and Pistol didn't have one. I brought up the pro careers, you said its about college. Okay both had outstanding college careers. So why would the college put up one for Shaq and not Pistol. Don't know? But googling I found Pistol wasn't in the LSU HoF either and the link on wiki stated that he never graduated from college. So maybe thats why. But fact is Pistol was good, really good. But he is an after thought compared to Shaq.
I am tired of you always derailing threads with some race bs. I quoted on Shaq's greatness and that was it. You don't have to turn every thread into your own personal vendetta. I don't care about how asians are better than blacks either your favorite line. I just don't care. Now I gave my word and I have kept it too. Take the race baiting crap some place else. Just let it go or just stfu.
Put up (links/sources/evidences) or STFU.

Svnla made the first Shaq/Pistol Pete comment, and you jumped all over it. Why are you so stuck on it?Well, why you are so stuck on Pistol vs Shaq is beyond me.
I have no problem with Shaquille O'Neal getting his statue, nor with Pete Maravich's omission from LSU's Hall of Fame, since he does not meet the graduation requirement. I will, however, repeat my note that Shaquille O'Neal's statue shall be dwarfed by the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in which Mr. O'Neal played.Shaq is/was so much better its not even a debate to be honest. And Pistol was the man. But Shaq for more than decade was the President of the Man Club. Here is the answer from the LSU associate director why Shaq is getting a staue before Pistol. That is the associate director of LSU, so forward your objections to him.

Also they did take into account the pro careers as well.
