HappyPuppy...the subway's pretty great, although sometimes it breaks down and I'm late to work. No big deal though. A lot of people use it at my job, most of them use MetroLink though. They live in OC for the most part, some in Valencia. Being in Hollywood I have a pretty quick trip...about 15 mins from the Vermont/Sunset station to Pershing Square downtown. My company pays for the subway pass too, so I end up saving a lot of money. :)

Sh!t happens in California, MrDingleDangle. Wait until summer gets here. Oh, by the way, summer here comes a month or two later than it should. There's nothing like an 80F Christmas day.

The LA subway is really cool. Looks great and relatively uncrowded so far. But for the billion dollars spent, it doesn't really go anywhere. I wish they can extend it along wilshire blvd from downtown to UCLA!

born and raised in southern california's southbay (Hawthorne)... gonna be moving up to Yorba Linda (do they have broadband up there) in a month... *sigh* i'll really miss being 5 miles from manhatta, redondo and hermosa... :/

speaking of rapid transit... are they really gonna' run a metrolink from corona to LA? also, when are they gonna widen Imperial Highway... driving 50 mph inbetween an 8-foot space isn't very comfortable.

When I was in the army I was stationed at Fort MacArthur for awhile. Is it still there? On the Upper Reservation there were huge mortar pits to defend against a Japanese invasion. I used to hang out down on the wharf sometimes.

Just remembered, some of my buddies and I used to climb the cliffs at Point Fermin. Do they still let people do that?

Hey HappyPuppy!!

Dude Fort MacArthur was shut down along time ago. Its still there, but it serves as housing for trouble teens now. Those motar pits are still there and when I was a kid too, I loved to go up there hang around too. You can still climb those cliffs of Point Fermin but recently a couple of High School kids commited suicide recently :( I guess they just couldn't handle it anymore.

Its nice to know that I fellow Pedro peeps hanging out here..

Born on Oahu, HI, moved to LA about 14 years ago. I live in Carson, work in Carson and hope to leave Carson soon.

BTW I wrote the data acquisition software (communicates to all the devices in the field) for the Red Line Subway System in LA. If you experience delays or your subway car plummets into another car don't come crying to me. I don't work for that company anymore! :)
