I had to be the KEWLest parent on the planet. My daughter was allowed to drink IN THE HOUSE at 15yrs. old. Never had a curfew or bed time.

I had to know where she was at all time, who she was with, and what time she was gonna be home... but if she called, she could come home what ever time she asked for, as long as she was home at that time. Once she hit 17, she could drink at parties but not get drunk. I also supplied her with all the $$$ she ever needed and gave her whatever she asked for.

She ended up graduating HS a year early, with high honors, all AP classes, honor society, who's who, and scored 1500 on her SATS without studying. And she can still wear white... ;)

I did the 3D rule.
I respected her as a person, and allowed her freedom to make her own mistakes BUT... IF she were EVER

Disrespecful
Disobedient
Defient
I would bubble her azz, no questions asked!!

I want you as my mommy. :D;)

I'm sure your kid loves the luxury of being able to drink whenever and constantly mooch of you, but I think I'm better off earning my own money and having limits set for me until I'm not dumbass enough to break them. It's spoiled kids like that who just piss me off...they cruise through life thinking they're hot sh!t, but put them a state away from their parents and tell them to get a job and they won't know what the hell to do.

'spoiled' is a frame of mind. NOT a state of possessions :)
She will support herself just fine. She knows what it takes to buy the things she has. That is why her CC is hardly ever used. She is the type of kid who will phone me and tell me that she is putting her diner on the CC. Good Lord, she has $10,000. credit that she will never see a bill for and she calls me for $11.00 cause she was raised correctly. She has everything and is NOT spoiled.

and to shady:
She went to Penn State University Park. We did not get any grants or anything cause she was out of state, so after a year and almost $30k in tuition, room/board, food plan books, decortaing her room (tv, dvd, stereo, phone, fridge...etc) and spending money.... she said that she did not like it enuf for the $$$ we spent, so she is now in York University, England... she is doing a triple major .. she loves it .. but...

I miss her!!!

:(

EDIT: I am habving a hard time figuring out why it is tha the majority of ppl here think she is spoiled ina bad way. After all the threads about over priced cars and rims and spening money of really stupid stuff, it amuses me that most of the guys here will think that clothes and grooming are silly. And I have stated over and over again that I give her everything. I never said she was spoiled or did not appreciate stuff. I have stated over and again that she is respectful and good hearted. And as for 'sponging' as it was put.... well she is in school. She does not need to work, so why should she? Let her study and not stress. And good for her. She deserves it.

Kids who post about getting caught with alcohol to make themselves seem uber-l33t make me sick. So do kids who get everything they want. I'm a senior in high school, looking like soluditorian, 1580, what-have-you, and I make my own money and buy my own stuff. I have never had a drink. I don't get handed anything. But hey, what's a gangster to do?
