It's crazy up until this year I wouldn't have been able to tell you what it was. But I had two friends end up with one, about a month apart. Apparently they are quite common, just not too many people talk about it. Both ended up getting surgery to have the section removed and were off work for at least 6 weeks. Good luck with yours!

This sucks. It hurts worse now..more than ever before. I have a fever, and I have trouble sleeping. To add to that, I am on the top bunk.

Going home this weekend, for sure.

Well the surgery didnt suck to bad. It was in and out in one day. They gave me a bunch of painkillers and trust me, you need them.
I was cut about two and a half inches long and about an inch deep. I could stick my pinky in it up to my first knuckle....it was icky!! I almost passed out when I did that....I wouldnt recommend doing that.

Well, the other gross part is packing it...did I mention I love my wife of 12 years?

You use sterile water and gauze and you get the rest. You have to do that between 1 or 2
weeks.
The idea is to get it to heal from the inside out.

Would I do it again....YES.

I didnt need to get mine lanced, it did it on its own all the time....driving forklift fixed that.
That sh!t really stinks and it will drain for a few days.

Get the surgery done soon.:)

Had to have surgery on my left eye for one once. I was awake during it and they had to flip my eyelid inside-out and make a cut in it to drain the thing.

I tend to get them in Fall... right around this time...

I actually have a small one on my lower left eyelid right now. You can't see it, but it kind of hurts. I've learned to catch them early and deal with them accordingly.

That big one when I needed surgery was like having a really large and hard pea in your eyelid pressing down on your eye and a throbbing pain as well as pain from the skin stretching... :D

EDIT: kind of like this

Thank god someone else has these.

How do you stop them coming back? I've had them on and off for three years now, and they're driving me insane.

Suhhhweeet. At the doctors office, he "poked" a hole in it, and drained it. It feels a lot better now. Hopefully I can go for a while before it bothers me too much.

Text This website has a lot of really useful information. I wish I had read up on it before I had my surgery. And to everybody who thinks these things are the bees knees, believe me, you DO NOT want one. Your mobility is severly limited, and the pain is blinding.
