Sh!t, I think I have a Pilonidal Cyst

yea those things are pretty nasty, as well as well any kind of cystl like that one in that vid that was posted, my dad is a general surgeon, and he has removed a bunch of them, he told me about one that was about the size of a fist on a mans sside, it was so hard inside that they had to push a scalpel into it as hard as they could, and then it burst in an amazing display of blood and puss, pretty grousome, but the man felt a million times better

my ex GF had something like this on her back, wasent nearly as big, only bout the size of a pinky finger nail, i noticed it one day, and it looked like a big zit so i went at it, SOOOOO much crap came out, it was very dry pus tho, much like what comes outta a zit, but man did it ever fvcking stink

I have one that acted up on occasion, although it hasn't given me any trouble for a few years.

Doctors don't really know what causes them/why some people get them and others don't. There also really isn't any known cure. You can have them lanced or surgically removed, but often times they'll come back again. The best thing to do is not over-irritate the area. Beyond that, keep everything clean, and if you're "forested" down in that area, shave around the general region of the cyst. That'll stop hair from turning into the cyst and growing indefinitely.

LOL! Yeah I was eating the first time I watched it too. My first though was the E-Z Cheese cans. It would've been a lot worse if the pus was chunky and had different colors in it.

No big deal, just keep cleaning it with some alcohol, and letting it drain. Maybe get some gauze pads that will absorb the stuff.

Yeah man, better out than in. And get some pics for crying out loud!

You know what really smells bad? A festering ingrown toenail wound that's been inside a sweaty sock and shoe all day. Man those things reek. Nothing like coming home and taking off your shoe to see a big red brown wet spot on your sock friggin' WELDED to your toe. I had about 12 ingrown toenail surgeries before I actually went and had a procedure to totally remove the one side of the nail. And that 12 isn't counting the times when I'd just jam a knife and some clippers in there.

Yeah..I just went to the bathroom again, to try to drain it more. It is becoming increasingly harder to get more to come out, yet the big bump just above the "hole" still exists. I am gonna maybe just stay up and go to the health center as soon as it opens.


And mobobuff - that sucks man..I used to have ingrown toenails, but...I don't really have them anymore, and they were never that bad.

I am just angry with myself though. I should have known that over 3 years ago, having an unusually itchy upper-ass isn't normal, and should be checked out.

I mean...it itched quite a bit, but I didn't think about it much. All was well until just about this monday or so.

Closest I've had to this is a chalazion.

Had to have surgery on my left eye for one once. I was awake during it and they had to flip my eyelid inside-out and make a cut in it to drain the thing.

I tend to get them in Fall... right around this time...

I actually have a small one on my lower left eyelid right now. You can't see it, but it kind of hurts. I've learned to catch them early and deal with them accordingly.

That big one when I needed surgery was like having a really large and hard pea in your eyelid pressing down on your eye and a throbbing pain as well as pain from the skin stretching...

It might be that there is some puss trapped in a seperate "chamber" and isn't ready to drain yet. Just keep it clean and keep an eye on it.

Haha, yeah, that would be perfect.....perfectly embarrassing .

However, my school doesn't have a med school, but so far the health center has been helpful.


Mardeth - Apparently not too common, but amongst hairy, young, overweight, sedentary, males.

I happen to fit all of those categories.

Edit: Just make sure the area right above your ass crack is normal. If it starts to itch a lot, or develop any bump, then I would be worried. The earlier it is discovered, the better.
