if clearing the CMOS doesn't work, try reseating the vid card and RAM, if you don't get any beeps most likely the CPU is dead

thanks for advice. did it. no beeps 🙂
now shoping for new CPU 🙂

one more question. I found seller that sels 1.1 Gz FCPGA celerons. (don't anything over 1Gz is FCPGA2 ?)

For audio, I found a USB 5.1 external sound box here (eDio AS-100 5.1. Audio Theatre). Don't know anything about the quality or could not find any reviews. I ordered one and will check it out in next few days.

Did you switch the jumper from PAL to NTSC video, that's probably the problem.

I was searching for the best celeron CPU for this board, but I was confusied.

I supose I can use only FC-PGA CPU's right ? but how to know ? I saw number of times celeron 950 in pricewatch as PC-PGA and when I go to dealers site It's already FC-PGA2

plus all 1.1 celerons I saw was FC-PGA2, but intel site says they produsing only FC-PGA

intel celeron info

I'm confused

Sweet! IR Keyboard is working just fine... currently installing Win2k Server. Had to clear the bios before getting it to run but it seems to be going smoothly now... hopefully I won't have any driver issues once installed.

Mambo, I just saw a $9.95 Tualatin Adapter at compgeeks.com. I wish their pictures worked... I don't know for certain that it will work with any particular setup (ie- this motherboard) but it seemed like a good deal, i ordered one, will try a Tualatin CPU with this adapter when it arrives.

Compgeeks also lists Coppermine Celeron 1GHz on same page as that adapter.

Well,
I got my new set last night (I ordered on Thurs afternoon). I hooked ut up this morning, and the keyboard works, no problem.
I cannot seem to get the pointer working (no, i don't have another mouse installed). Of course, I haven't reloaded the OS from my previous board, maybe it is still looking for the usb mouse i had hooked up.

Any ideas??

Nevermind,
Rebooted and it works. Albeit this thing is a lot worse than the nub on my laptop. Maybe it just needs broken in.

Sativen, I did not change the jumper, so if it came with PAL, may be that is the problem. Thanks for the tip. I will try that tomorrow.

P2Y has updated the Product Page, added the IR Transceiver hookup note. Hopefully anyone who sees *only* that note will guess correctly which way to plug it in, instead of plugging it in reversed, fry (uhh, mean "my") way.

Ahhhhhhhh...... I just paid about $30 for a Powerleap NEO/T adaptor yesterday in Japan, which is I am currently in as I type. And I have just looked at your post for this adaptor.......

I thought that I could use more of these adaptors and went to Compugeek just to find out they are all OOS. This is what happens when I lose access to internet for a couple of days. Shiit!!

Thanks for your response tiger. very pro of you. You can guarantee most of us will be watching your site for other deals from now on based on the response you've given.

I'll be getting my netvista case in a week or two. Any recommendations on getting this thing in? So far, fxsts has given these tips:

ATX extension cable to reach the power supply
Recutting on the back panel to match this layout
Extending the IR tranceiver cable
Removing the front USB panel for IR access

anything I missed?

Hmm I happend to see this thread after a bump after a week of not checking. I dug the keyboard out the trash, hooked up the header and it works.

Good deal after all.

Also if you all care., My cable wasnt long enough to reach the front of my case where i wanted So i took an old floppy cable, just hooked it to the board, "counted the Pins" so they line up the same, then the other side to the IR' receiver. 18" cable and it works. Im going to cut it down to the 14 wires i need so as not so bulky.

I have it in a small IBM client case that's black, and you would think it's a VCR under my tv if you dont look hard enough.

Using floppy cable is a good idea, you don't even need all 14 wires though, can leave out the first 4 on the end with the red wire, and the last wire on the other end and have only 9 wire wide ribbon cable. Since it still seems that only 6 wires are needed, CAT5 cable might also be used but maybe more of a hassle/risk getting wires connected in proper pin-positions.

Did anyone find a keyboard or mouse driver so we can map these extra keys?
Or is there a way to do it straight out of windows?
I'd like to be able to use the keys beneath the pointer for scrolling, and use some of the top keys as hot keys for media player, etc.

This brochure claims "Intellimouse Compatible Internet Browse Scrolling Button". Other than that, all i've seen is the keyboard Win9x Driver , download page.. Maybe it would work on WinXP? There "Might" also be the possibility of using some other multimedia keyboard driver, though I don't know any particular make/model which might be the most appropriate.

Well, now that you mention it, my receiver wouldn't have fried out if i'd had the hookup directions in the first place, will you send me another receiver module please?

Has anyone else tried using the tv-out? I get a good signal out, but it's not displaying in 640x480 mode even though that's what the display properties are set to. it looks more like 800x600, but not shrunk down to fit the screen, so I'm missing a portion of the bottom and right desktop.

Anyone else run into this? I'm running XP on the system and have installed the SiS video drivers.

Thanks!
