if anyone needs evidence that today's music is going straight down the sh!tter, I think I found it...plus half of the other songs listed in this thread...

It's probably just a coincendence that 90% of these songs are rap songs...

Missy Eliot singing explicitly about getting it on is just wrong in my book.

ill try and keep them on a leash. ;) actually, i think the post'er is looking to pick a fight. second time he's mentioned it in this thread within 20 minutes. first time, he got no response or rebuttal, so he came with a more blatant attack. not that i cant truly fault him, the more popular or rap music that the general public is exposed to is the crap they play on the radio and mtv. if i was completly ignorant or dont care for the genre as a whole, i would probably be taking the same stance.

not trying to pick a fight with anyone...

I would have been content to stop at my first post...but after reading the lyrics to that song, I felt compelled to respond...

that stuff is what your (or someone you know's) 12 year kid is listening to (or at least exposed to) on a daily basis... doesn't that bother you? It bothers me and I don't have kids....

I know all about how the older generation is alway going to hate the younger generation's music (I listened to metal back in the 80's and all the adults pretty much said we were going to he!! for listening to it)...

Rated M for Mature on CD's and games is pretty much a joke...

No more rap bashing from me on this anymore...

Come to think of it, any song sung by Chef is full of innuendos.

Is there a Best of Chef CD yet?

If so... LINK!

How about "Let's Get Physical"? (there are more (better) versions than the Olivia Newton John early 80s rendition, you know)

yeah, it bothers me that these kids think its cool to glorify what these mainstream acts are talking about... guns, drugs, disrespect of women. but its a uphill battle that is damn near impossible to win. its what appeals, what sells, and it just continues to grow. trying to block kids or keep them away from it will only make them seek it out harder and become more determined to obtain it. just got to accept it and try to live with it. its a damn shame for sure, but we cant turn back the hands of time.
