I didn't say it doesn't happen anywhere else. What I meant (and didn't say) was that some problems are much worse in present-day Russia.

And to prove YOUR point, the police recently busted a brothel in North Carolina. The victims were female illegal immigrants forced to serve as sex slaves to male migrants from south of the border. I'm sure there are similar situations elsewhere in the USA for illegals from China, Eastern Europe, etc.

Usually when one says "A gives a rise to B" it implies that B did not exist before and A is the direct cause of B.

for those who might be a bit confused video clip and the write up are not the same

"olga" in the video is the trafficker. It looks to be the large woman in white, she's the one dealing the girls. Well the camera is fixed on her the most.

the write up or rather a copy and paste from msnbc on the other hand is about a girl name Olga.

edit: ah this comes from shoutcast, that explains the cut and paste job.

anyhow this isn't surprising. some countries that was once part of the Soviet Union, although they don't parade it around sex trafficking is a large part of their economy.
