Huh? It's a Mitsubishi. A 3000GT VR-4 Spyder.

3.0 twin-turbo V6 AWD 300 hp and... 3800 lbs 🙁
Yea, but you can juice the living hell out of them.

LOL. I think it's the other way around. The Stealth was a rebadged 3000GT with them both riding on a FWD based Galant chassis
The 3000gt vr4 is awd.

No sh!t 😀 But the platform is still FWD based. There were still FWD (3000GT/3000GT SL) and AWD (3000 GT VR4 models.

Ok, I thought the geo-benz was funny...but now you're a little creepy. Do you just walk around your parking lot looking for cars to photograph? 😉

My Russian teacher in high school drove a Dodge Stealth. It was the last car we ever expected her to be driving. We were all like 'WTF?'.

The DSM's were based on the Galant as well 😉

wisting the Galant into the Eclipse/Talon/Laser was straightforward, continued Motor Trend. "Many adjustments have been made to the pieces, of course, like paring the wheelbase down to 97.2 inches and completely recalibrating the suspension to deal with its new job description. Wheel sizes have grown clear up to 16 inches on the high-end turbo cars we tested, compared to the 15-inch wheels used on the Galant GS?. The suspension pieces are strictly routine stuff, with MacPherson struts supporting the front end and a twist beam semi-independent setup in the back. The requisite disc brakes are fitted all around, but no antilock braking system is available at this time. At least the Diamond Star car's?braking system provides good feel and has impressive fade resistance."

Why does everyone complain about weight all of the time? The solution is just more power. A regular VR4 weights only 150lbs more than a supra and my Buick weighted in at 3700lb.

A regular VR4 weights at least 300lbs more than a Supra Turbo. It had too much techno gadgets, like rain sensing wipers. 😕

Weight affects the dynamics of the car, from how quickly it accelerates, how quickly it stops and how fast it changes directions. If all you do is increase power then you're not exactly addressing those things effectively.

oh yeah... and in the front too... lol... active aero or whatever it was called. the concept was cool in action but that car could've kicked a lot of asses if it didn't weigh as much. 🙁

EDIT: Oh and can't forget the option to change the exhaust tone... 😕 I think they took out that option by 1998 which dropped it back down to 37xx lbs.

That's why you would buy a stealth, I've seen a stock one run 13.3.

Same scale, two of my freinds cars, both loaded, 150lb difference. You can't always go by the curb weight.

Also, as far as the gadgets, it was meant as a nice GT car, not a lightweight race car.

...don't take that post as "I'm a fan of the VR-4" because I'm not really 😛
