We will get involved.

I'll be in with all cores and all GPUs - I only hope that seti@home will not have a server outage ...
Which happened at the previous gauntlet ... 🙁

I nominate you to be our captain for this event, in that case!

If it is short enough in duration, I'd be very curious to see what my compute capacity would be vs one project.

Is SETI GPU dominated?

Sweet! When I am at a BOINC enabled PC I will get signed up for the project and post my SETI ID here 🙂

ok...... you got me.

Seeing as how SETI got me started on the road to ruin, I'll join this "race"........ I'll monitor this thread and when the time comes switch my Folding and Rosetta machines to Seti for this race. I joined the seti@home (classic) team back in 2004. And still have one lonely Mac Mini still running the boinc software. I have fallen so far down the list ...............
Anyway I'm in:

anyone off the top of thier head know how well the AMD cards crunch on seti now?... haven't done it in awhile
nVidia cards have a significant advantage over ATI cards in Multibeam, while ATI cards have a significant advantage over nVidia cards in Astropulse. the downside for ATI card owners is that Astropulse work production is dismal, whereas Multibeam work is always abundant.

as regards the challenge, i'm sure some of you know that SETI@Home is one of my core projects and is very important to me. that being said, my GTX 560 Ti recently crapped out on me, and despite the fact that its an EVGA card w/ lifetime warranty, i basically screwed myself out of warranty service by gluing heatsinks to the VRAM chips and VRMs (guess i should have read the fine print first). on top of that, the pair of GTX 460s that replaced the GTX 560 Ti is throwing Einstein@Home errors, and i'm currently trying to work that out. as of right now, my participation in the SETI@Home Gauntlet will hinge on the ability to fix my current GPU issues...

Well, I basically be all CPU + a number of weak/older GPUs. Hopefully the 30+ cores I can muster will be valuable in the face of the GPU onslaught.

looks like i'm going to need to reseat my wb on my one system... cpu is overheating under load. any recommendations for a good thermal compound?
