SETI help please

I'm looking for that article about a year ago, which talked about SETI having to toss out over 1 million years of CPU time of work on SETI (all the work that had been done up to that time, in the history of the Project) due to a bug in the client, that caused the huge uproar.

It also talked about after the users screening the data, and a second computing step had to be done on that data and nobody had ever done the second step anyhow.

Could someone help me find the link please?

Thanks.

Are you talking about when there was a hacked client in the version 2 of the software? If so that was more than a year ago. I can't recall any results being thrown out any other time. Let me know if that is what you are interested in and I think I can dig up a link or two.

There was a problem with the reinvestigated WUs. They did mess up on the process of generating the WUs and all those had to be tossed and regenerated. I don't have a link to the article, but it was the WU data collected on the top candidates. And it has been about a year since they gather that info.

Nah, that was the SETI cover up story. This one was at EETimes or something like that. SETI did an awesome job of supressing the news.
