I'm looking for that article about a year ago, which talked about SETI having to toss out over 1 million years of CPU time of work on SETI (all the work that had been done up to that time, in the history of the Project) due to a bug in the client, that caused the huge uproar.
It also talked about after the users screening the data, and a second computing step had to be done on that data and nobody had ever done the second step anyhow.
