True, I live right in the middle of the whole Duke - UNC - NC State - Wake Forrest gang so I respect them all on varying levels...

But the hate for Duke seems outrageous😕

lol, i was going to type this when i read the thread title, thanks for typing it for me. but now i've just realized that i have typed much more than that sentence. so thanks for nothing. i'm going to stop typing now.
 
by the way, now that dook has been eliminated, does that mean all the stupid mike krzyzewski commercials have been eliminated too?
 
The daughter of my 5th grade science teacher went to Duke so logistically I hate Duke. Don't ask for pics.
 
I went to UNC so I hated Dook. It was my favorite school before I received the UNC indoctrination though.
 
The bias for Duke basketball by the ncaa, espn, cbs and all those involved with the sport is really sad. Every single game of the tournament is filled with their stupid coach (with a horribly pronounced last name) promoting credit cards, cars, "good moral values" etc...
The edge this gives them in undeniable, as in one American Express ad, it is essentialy a 30 second recruiting clip for young basketball players everywhere.

It is really too bad that such a strong academic instituion is commercialized by a basketball program filled with kids who are dumb, don't graduate, and are raking in money for the media and related corporations. When I was looking at colleges Duke looked like a nice place to check out and apply to, but as the basketball season rolled on while I was narrowing my choice, it made me so sick that I crossed them off completley.
 
I'm not a NCAA basketball fan but I respect Duke. Why hate a team that has high academic standards and still produces in athletics? The only reason I can see is if it's a rivalry.
 
I'm a huge Duke fan. I think it's because I was growing up when Hurley, Laetner and the Hill Brothers were there. I live in NJ so it's not a location thing but they're really the only sports team that I make it a point to be home to watch their games.
 
Because I go to an ACC school outside of NC, and no one there can see how crappy the officiating is in-conference...
