I must say that mixed race people can be some of the most amazingly beautiful people.

The general rule is if someone has to say "I'm not racist but...", they're racist. You mi amigo are racist, not in the brandishing WP tattoos kind of way, but you are like most white people in this country. You say "I'm not racist" but I bet you will lock your car doors while driving through a primarily black neighborhood.

I'm mixed (black/italian). I was raised by my Italian father. I never really had a problem. I grew up in a white neighborhood, and didn't really know my black family too well outside of my grandmother (RIP). I've been an A student all of my life, and excelled at 3 sports. Growing up in a white neighborhood was kind of odd. My father used to show up to my sporting events, and since I was one of the best players, everyone knew he was my father. Some people asked if I was adopted, I told them "no he's my biological father". Everyone basically accepted me as white because I was "only half black" and my white father raised me. It's kind of odd how people that know me "accept me" as white, whereas people that don't think I'm just another "n*gger". I believe it's because I don't fit into any of the negative black stereotypes, and if they can't catagorize me as that and I have white blood I must not REALLY be black (white people have told me this).

Anyway, if you want to date outside your race, feel free to. It doesnt mean you will have children with the woman. Perhaps you will learn something new. Perhaps you will want to marry a non-white woman. Have at it. Have fun.

Oh, and don't say half-breed. I don't say you're caucasian bred, do I? It really is offensive, it's making us sound like some kind of dog.

As with any match, there can be good or bad from it.

Race does not have to figure into the equation.

Way to stereotype there. I guess it's only ok to group a racial group together as long as they're white.

Am I wrong? I stereotyped to make a point. Saying most white people are racist isnt really something I can quantify, but from life experience I know it to be true. As a mixed person that's often accepted in situations where black people aren't, I am at a great vantage to judge. Things that white cohorts would shrug off usually make an impact on me, and ergo I recall them with ease. For instance, I was walking down the street with a group of amigos BITD, and I recall one of them saying n*gger. And he said "I'm not talking about you, you're cool, but you know, fvcking n*ggers."

Yes, most white people throughout this country have some racial angst, they just hide it.

edit: I never said it wasn't okay to group people as races. That's a standard method of taxonomy. I think you meant "so it's okay to stereotype, as long as it's white people"

You are guilty of being a racist too. You think your "mixed" heritage gives you superior insight into this problem. You call "white" people racist based on your limited experience.

You have serious racial issues.

I am also supposedly mixed race but you will never see me using that as a defense to say I have a better and more informed point of view.

I have noted that people of any and all race have the capacity to be stupid and hateful.

You need to look in the mirror.

I'm racist because I said most white people are racist? That's nonsensical. I was raised in a white world, but because of my mixed heritage I was sensitive to racial remarks, images, connotations, et cetera. You are correct, people of any race and be stupid and hateful, but I'm neither. I do think that most white people have some racist beliefs. But, I'll say something I didn't say before... Most black people do to. I don't think I'm superior at all because I am mixed. I think it gave me an interesting but peculier outlook on life and people. This is a very liberal forum, most people here are very nice, helpful, and informative. I think that most of the people here have a very progressive view on race, and my statements may not be true of most of you, here. Although I do think it's true of America, in general.

People of any racial background have the ability to be racist.

Jesse Jackson is the hugest racist on the planet but he will end up on a stamp after he dies or will be given his own holiday. Martin Luther King was a truly intelligent man that didn't play that game... take time to read his speeches, the man was truly inspirational and nearly color blind.

I feel like right now it is totally politically correct and media approved to treat white people like garbage and to deny them opportunities because of their skin color. I think people will look back on this time as one where poor white people were treated worse than any poor black person in the 50's.

I am not a victim of any of this but I can see what's happening. Maybe the only answer is for all the races to mix completely.
