...but, as chemical reactions in your brain go, it's one of the more fun ones. 😉

I think he's getting that "love" (as generally known) is simply believed in through faith. Theres nothign tangible/scientific about love. Theres no real legitimate reaosn to believe in love and not God (or vice versa).

There's...
Divine love
Sexual love
Fraternal love
Parental love
Filial love
Familial love
Animal love
Bubba love
Can you please specify to which of the above (or others) which you are referring?
If you're going to make a philosophical inquiry, think it through first and clearly define what you mean.

I'm quite content with the whole chemical changes theory.

"Love" has nothing to do with religion.

I was just curious if Atheists believed in love... or whether they refused to call it love... claim it as purely scientific chemicals etc... just some curiosity...

Difference being that love can be proven. Whereas religion is debateable
I can respect that. That is a strange view, though.Originally posted by: Doboji

I think I've provided more than sufficient definition to discuss thoroughly... pic any from the above and discuss.. what is there to Parental love?.... is it magical and special.. or just a bunch of chemical reactions in the brain... if it's just chemical reactions then.. doesn't that dillute the meaning of the terminology itself?
or how about romantic love?... what about the difference between romantic love, and sexual love?... is there a difference?
Jesus christ people... stop being so damn defensive before there's something to defend against...

Love is clearly a human thing... you don't need to believe in God to know that love is a real emotion.
It's kinda like asking if you have to believe in Satan to believe that water boils, or something.
Because we can scientifically measure the changes in ones body/brain when you're experiencing the emotion "love", just like we can with "anger", "sadness", etc...Originally posted by: Doboji
