Completely normal to be a little nervous. I was the exact same way. As soon as you get there you'll start meeting people though and have a great time!

You joined in 2003. If you were 11 in 2003, you are now 14 in 2006.

How are you going to college at 14?

BTW, I have have tshirts that are as old as you. Really.

Sandals for the showers.
Go to every party.
Make friends with the RA's of the dorms.
Be an RA.
Get a Sams/BJs membership and go in on bulk food/school items.
Mini fridge is a must.
Move to a nearby apartment after a year in the dorms.
Make sure you have a college exit strategy.

fixed.

seriously, guys smell so bad ;)

girls are messy in their own way (omg, leaving tampons in the toilet :|), but at least they smell nice. haha.

I was pretty excited in the weeks leading up to going away to college... the excitment died down after moving into the dorms, meeting my roommate, and discovering that he was a total douche :p

You'll move all your stuff into your Dorm. A dreaded feeling will come over you and you'll think, WTF am I doing here this is going to suck. Then you'll walk outside to see your family off, wishing you could go with them. As your family pulls away you'll suddenly notice the hoards of hot girls walking around, and you'll make friends with the dude standing next to you. That dreaded feeling will be washed away and you will be more excited then ever.

If your initial roommate sucks, go down to housing and explain to them within the first week that you are going to punch him in the face next time he requests you to be in bed by 10:00pm.

About to start my junior year at Indiana University. I was a little nervous before I came, too-now it's the summer before my junior year and I never went home for break. Tell you something? ;)

Meet everyone, always take the initiative to strike up conversations with strangers (may feel awkward at first, but only gets more awkward the further away you get from being a freshmen). Don't be in a big hurry to find a girlfriend/best friend, just hang out with folks. When class starts, you'll get pretty busy in a big hurry, but everyone else will be just as busy, so don't worry about being a loser having to do work all the time.

WTF? Are you and I the only smart (smart /= intelligence to get into college early!) people in this thread? Does common sense no longer have a place in our society? WTF?

Well, I am going by memory here, but the dorms where I went to school were strictly 18 and up. Made decisions easier.

At least the food is decently good @ West End and @ the "new" Dietrick. However, it will get old real quick.

Yeah. 18 is the common age-of-consent in most states...and I am talking about normal college. Not those in CA or NY. None of those Berkeley type Birkenstock-wearing type places.

Anyway...it's obvious the OP is either really young or PWI (posting while impaired). Or both.

*sigh*
When you grow enough hair on your face to shave more than once a month, maybe you'll have the life-understanding to say that with emphasis and meaning. Right now, it sounds exactly like post-pubescent whining...oh wait...

Hook up with ladies
You will probably drink beer
Find good cheap food

I also liked just "get BJs." Haha.

Study hard. People will tell you grades in college don't matter, but they do.

Good luck.

You're gonna be ok and you'll have a great time. Dont worry about the all male dorm, there will be plenty of ladies on campus

The hell with everyone else. I want an answer to my question! How is it that the OP is 14 years old and entering college?

If he's really 14, he'll be abused every single day. Period.
If he's not 14, I'll abuse him every single day for lying. Period.
