Resident Evil 2????

I will admit, that I never played the original as I had a N64 and not a Playstation, but I played RE2 all the way through at least 20 times, to the point it took less than 2 hours to complete with both characters at the end. I really enjoyed that game, and it was probably the only game I played when I was a freshman in college.

The sequel made players soft and lazy. It made them fat with ammo and health!

I don't agree with a lot of that list, but I will say Tecmo Super Bowl was an awesome game. Didn't know there was one before it.

There is actually a really active Tecmo Bowl community, and a couple of "in the spirit of" sequels on Kickstarter. I still play it from time to time. The version I play uses updated rosters. I can kinda see where they are getting at with the Game Informer list, since they are not listing bad original games, just games that had major flaws. The great sequels just have more polish. Uncharted 2 for example, was superior in every way to Uncharted 1, and it was mainly polish.

But as other people pointed out, you dont really get a sequel if the original was bad. Even great original games dont get sequels. I do have another one to add to the list: Kane and Lynch.

I will agree that it took a lot to die, and once you got good at the game ammo was never a problem. I felt that the game made it too hard to die as well, but I didn't really think the ammo was that overboard. Before I knew where all the zombies would come from, I ran low on ammo frequently, so it didn't seem unbalanced for someone who was learning the game.

Alien vs. Predator 2 was another that was a good game that was too easy at times. The demo made it very easy to die to an alien attack, but in the released game, you could get attacked multiple times and still survive. It took a lot of the edge off.

MDK 2

KKND 2

Neverwinter Nights 2 (singleplayer) - the main campaign in first NWN was rather dull and empty, too much uniteresting fighting, too little story, not enough dialogues. NWN 2 surpasses this by becoming something like Knights of the Old Republic II. (Which only makes sense, since both games are by Obsidian).

Worms 2
