is it going to be
"I, for one, welcome our new Bulldozing Overlords."
or
"show's over. nothing to see here, folks."

guess we'll know soon enough.

Why can't there be a middle ground between the two?

Like "I show's for over welcome nothing our to new see Bulldozing here Overlords folks"

???

In Europe it's Sept.22nd. 10 or so hours more to wait. It's killing me, especially when it's a very high chance that nothing will happen.
Aye, after BLT pulled out the listings September 22nd looks like a goner. Only left is the October month by Tankguys. :hmm:

No launch today.
Well, its ETA or availability. Next stop, October. AMD is beginning to sound like Another Month Delayed. :\

And why again is this AMD fault? they didn't release a day at all.... If you use imaginary days to uphold somebody against those dates you will ofcourse be disappointed... but that it your doing and yours alone.

As I was saying, this came in >> AMD FX Dozer is shipped from today......
From reliable anonymous source has informed that as of today Hardware.info the first AMD FX-8120 Bulldozer processors ready to be made in the European distribution centers for shipment. In the preview we have already discussed that the bulldozer is based on a new processor architecture. AMD architecture has again completely from the ground up, and the architecture is in fact the successor to the K8 architecture in the Athlon 64 processor was introduced.
More rumors or is this confirmation? :hmm:

I know from a enthusiast standpoint, that first availability is important. And perhaps also for marketing reasons?
But in the broader economic perspective, i think the ramping and execution is the crusial part for AMD. Considering the problems AMD have had with Llano availability, i think this must not be understatet in the light of fx. first availability or top bin speed.

The definitely don't want to repeat a launch like they did for the Phenom I Barcelona.

Here's hoping they are actually shipping production Bulldozer FX's starting today, September 22nd, with actual widespread availability for hard launch by October 12th.

Looks on the web for any info on BD releasing today......

Who wants to bet on which will be available first, SB-E or BD?

In all fairness, AMD did say 60-90 days well over 90 days ago now. They just haven't mentioned anything about it since. For all we know, the thing's scrapped.

I'm surprised these guys would report Bulldozer as being a successor to the K8 versus reporting it as a successor to the K10 :hmm:
I wonder if that comment (on suceesor to K8) came from the editor himself, or from the source? :hmm:

And AMD hardly comment about the slide showing the 60-90 days thingy. Then after 90 days had passed, still nothing but silence from AMD. :hmm:

wow, did ya really call bs on one of the many, many rumors and supposed leaked informations relating to bd? o_O you, sir, must have balls that require a wheelbarrow to haul around, personally I don't have the cojones to call bs on anything relating bulldozer...its just that awesome, I don't dare even try and call bs lest it come here and kick my ass, or OBR, whichever gets here first :|

I need two wheelbarrows to haul them around ;)

When this site or any or major well respected site has some es samples on a full review like we got with sandy bridge then i'll be more optimistic .

Remember original phenom? Oh who wouldn't it was the greatest cpu of all time before IT even came out.

Look where that went and i do hope we have some competition intel pricing can be crazy at times .

What I remember of Phenom was all the BS hype that went into it being a "true quad-core" and how little relevance that actually had in terms of actual absolute performance.

It makes me all the more suspicious of this "the future is fusion" hype. I feel like I've been played once already, not sure I want on this hamster wheel for a second go around.

I blame lack of Intel fabrication process and lack of an actual new architecture

65nm and 45nm is pretty much awful for AMD

32nm is looking great though

Then the architecture the CPU could only really process 1.5 macro ops do to the ALU and AGU in each pipeline not being allowed to be used simultaneously

A lot of things in K8 to K10 were not fixed even though they were very broken and K10 also added more problems than it lost problems

K15 doesn't look like it has any of the above apparent problems but we will find out about apparent problems after release

What is even weird they look like they fixed alot of issues in K8 and K10 with K12 but why couldn't they do that with K10?

It makes me all the more suspicious of this "the future is fusion" hype. I feel like I've been played once already, not sure I want on this hamster wheel for a second go around.

Enthusiast
Performance
Mainstream
Essential
Casual
AIO

These markets need Fusion
Enthusiast and Performance doesn't

We talking about Bulldozer here or Chuck Norris? Now I'm really confused ...

Not to drag this too far off topic, but is it? Obviously it works, but I've always taken the silly 100W power consumption of the top Llano part to be a sign that it still has issues.
