We already have a thread on Perry, as he joins his campaign to gay bashing divisiveness.

And at least GWB in 2000 campaigned on being a loveable I don't offend anybody born again Christian. No nation building and all of that stuff, but Perry and Santorum come out swinging with a pure divide and offend too many people campaigning.

A sure guarantee of GOP minority appeal sure to lose any general election.

Anyone but Obama will win. You're not paying attention to his words, deeds, and actions.

Dream on, little Spidey.

Prior to Obama, I thought that Clinton was the best Repub Prez since Eisenhower, but Obama actually has him beat. His policies aren't much different from his predecessor's, your Idol, GWB.

In order to mount a campaign against an obvious centrist, Repubs have advanced every fringe-whack wing-nut in their stable just to create some contrast, which will ultimately spell their defeat in 2012.
At this point they have little else to offer, after pandering to the Spidey element of their base for decades, other than Romney, who defines "empty suit"...

To you only.

1000 bucks obama won't win. Money where your mouth is.

I can already hear Obama and the Dems "Another governor from Texas, how'd that work out last time *obama smug chuckle*"

answer - a whole lot better than you, obama. A whole hell of a lot better than you.

You don't live in Texas do you?

I think the problem is that Newt isn't in the race to win as much as he is in it to try and frame the debate.

He is an ideas guy and he wants to talk about ideas.

Sadly the media doesn't want to talk ideas and only wants to talk about the horserace. Which is how we end up with poor performing presidents.

It's nice to know that Gingrich is flaming out so early because it makes way for the likes of Bachmann et al to get in on the fun.

I really really want to see a Bachmann/Obama debate, or however unlikely, a Palin/Obama debate. Lambs to the slaughter.....🙂

Which media means you, sir?

All the media.

How often does the media talk about the issues facing the country vs who is winning what poll??

What did most people know about Obama beyond "Hope and Change"?

Look at the medicare debate and how the media covers it. "The GOP wants to kill seniors" "No we don't" "Yes you do" etc etc. How often do you see the media really dig into the issue and get to the truth?

Don't step away into the blank label of "media" - to you, sir - what is "media"?

Who do you find worthy as for the reporting of news.

Newt got turned into a newt and didn't get better. Now that the clowns have been eliminated the dinosaurs and primitive reptiles are taking their place. Its devolution! Conservatives don't believe in evolution.

I noticed the Fox News shows didn't mention this story. I guess those fair and balanced shows didn't get their talking points from Roger before taping.

Gingrich doesn't have any interesting ideas, and btw, the fact that you thought he could have beaten Obama in a debate given his pathetic lack of discipline as a speaker shows how out of touch you are with political reality.

No matter how much shit they talk, not a single lib here will have the balls to take you up on that bet.

That or some people simply don't bet on shit. Imagine that. I'll "bet" there are more than a few cons who will be willing to take a piece of this action if no betting libs will...

Doesn't matter, it only took one Sunday for the right wing's oracle to slay Paul Ryan's holocaust budget. Newt was right about that right wing social engineering and he was right about the foodstamp President.

His campaign always looked to be a major uphill battle. Poop just hit the fan. I've been wondering why he hasn't been in news lately, he was on a cruise in Greece.

I'd say he's toast.

I never thought he had much of a chance anyway, but I'm curious as to what led to this mass-exodus from his campaign. He must have really done something to upset everyone in the campaign in order for them to just quit.

I like some of Newt's ideas, he's always been rather pragmatic. He didn't really have a chance to win though, too many "issues" to be used against him in a campaign.

Don't worry, here ya go! I don't watch Fox at all, but it looks like Brett Beir covered it, here is a 3:30 piece. Did not watch it, so I can't comment on its contents but this was on their video page, a link to an article on their front page.

He's not Far Right enough for the Republican Power Brokers.
