Tell but don't show
"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything," Santorum said in the AP interview, which was published Monday.

In the April 7 interview, Santorum describes homosexual acts as a threat to society and the family. "I have no problem with homosexuality," Santorum said, according to the AP. "I have a problem with homosexual acts."

how do we elect idiots like that? :p politicians should just avoid sensitive subjects like they are supposed to do instead of making themselves look dumb.

Oh yeah... THERE'S the right idea... having people in government avoid *real* issues instead of deal with them.

If they don't do it, who will??

Thank God too, because if they didn't, this would be called "Californiastatium" instead of "The USA."

If the opinion was bigoted, then yes, I would be a bigot.

Bigot implies intolerance, you can still disagree with an idea and be tolerant toward it and I wouldn't exactly consider what that guy said to be the epitome of tolerance myself.

I think he's talking about anything sexual, and he's got at least one point. He's being consistent rather than hypocritical. He's saying that if we really believe people's sexual choices are their private choices, then polygamy etc logically should be as legal as homosexuality. It's his opinion that those lifestyles are infringing on his concept of family and he's entitled to his opinion. If people don't like it, they shouldn't elect him.

if homosexual acts should be illegal, why should heterosexual acts be legal?

I agree with him that if homosexuality is legal so should polygamy and adultery, but including incest is going a bit far.

Nobody is preventing him from having an opinion, they are just saying that he is a bigot, which he is.
