Don't forget that they lost the House popular vote too. They only kept a majority due to some eccentricities in our electoral system.

Republicans ran on a platform of stopping obama, anyway they could. They were elected to do so.

They are doing what they said they would do if elected. What's so hard to understand? Any republican voting for any gun control is going to have a very hard time come election/primary time. Same for any democrat that votes for it. It's a losing issue.

Only dealers are required to run a background check. How does the government know when a private citizen transfers a firearm to another person? They Dont. You have a right to bear arms, so why is a background check even needed?

They ran on a platform of stopping Obama and lost seats in both chambers of Congress and the Presidency. Sounds like the American people want Obama's agenda and want the Republicans to stop hindering what We The People are asking for. And by "sounds like" I mean "the absolute and undeniable truth is".

The Republicans did not lose enough to state that Obama could run roughshod over Congress or that Congress should rubberstamp.

America kept a setup of checks and balances.
They want Obama under the microscope now for decisions.

The Senate on both sides listened and responded to they people who they represent, not to political pills taken during emotional times and not to the President that apparently was out if touch.

Is the President out of touch on other issues? I am sure that people will be upset the more he ignores tbe constitution.

They can not punish him, but have the ability to block his goals via Congress.

The senators that voted for gun control represent a 62% population of this country. The out of touch group is the GOP.

I heard a disgusting commercial on the radio this morning. It was a menacing sounding PSA, where they claimed that MN legislators were being negligent by not closing the gun show loophole which allowed an insane woman to go to a gun show, buy a gun, and kill the man she was stalking.

First, for the last damn time, there is no gun show loophole. Unless you can figure out a way to physically prevent one private citizen from transferring an inanimate object to another private citizen in the privacy of their own homes, then you cannot close the private sale "loophole."

Second, the ad admitted that this woman was a stalker. She was intent on killing her victim. This wasn't even a crime of passion, which one could at least argue would be less effective without a convenient weapon. She clearly planned to kill her victim. If she hadn't purchased a gun, she would have found another way to do it.

Gun grabbers are such disgusting, disingenuous sacks of shit.
