Senate rejects obummer jobs bill

LOL, after all the bus tours and campaign nonsense, obummer could not even get a simple majority (forget the 60 needed to break a filibuster) of the democrat controlled senate to vote for his bloat package.

Of course the dimlibs are not really interested in actually passing anything, they just want to try to score political points, but it's kind of telling that they couldn't even get a majority in the senate that they control.

You will be the last one laughing after this next Presidential Election Cycle. The Bill was defeated due to yet ANOTHER Republican Filibuster which President Obama can use as another prime example of Republican obstructionism.

The Bill they voted down would have keep 400,000 teachers, firefighters and cops employed by adding a .5% sur Tax on every penny earned AFTER the first million dollars of income.

My question is do the Repugs give a flying fuck about ANYONE??

Hey, I didn't think there would be any chance for the gop in 2012. About a year ago if you told me the gop had a shot in 2012 I would have told you to stop smoking those funny things. If we oust him in 2012, that will be a bonus. Until then, damage control, preventing him from doing anything bad (filibuster in the senate, control the house) is the best we can hope for.

Please list the damage you are attempting to control...

Good, we need to stop bailing out local governments, if they need more teachers they need to cut elsewhere or raise revenue themselves. The federal government should not be a source of revenue for the states.

LMAO I bet you are in the same camp that wants to eliminate FEMA 😉

Wow, where to even begin. The potential damage is too big to list here, but things like the health care scam, cap & tax and on would be a start. We can't afford more dumb things like that, let California do all those dumb things.

Wow that was very informative.😵😵

What dangers are you afraid of with the Healthcare bill that could be quelled by some education?

Cap and trade? First embraced and endorsed by the Republicans then Obama jumped on board and now they oppose it lockstep 😵

I don't really follow California's problems but you seem to blame them on Obama too?

There are probably 1000 threads about that already. Go read any of them. It's not a matter of education (I'm well educated, thank you), it's a terrible mess of legislation that needs to be undone asap.

I don't care who first embraced or endorsed anything. A terrible idea is a terrible idea, and that's what cap & tax is. Nothing but another way to raise more tax money to be wasted.

Nope, he's not to blame for what California does, but he supports the same kind of idiocy they have there. Let them keep their idiocy there, we don't need it on a federal level, thanks.

1) Can you list what is making you so afraid of the Affordable Healthcare Act? I don't need to look at the previous threads on this subject because I know all about this Legislation. My question is what do YOU know about it...

2)So what part of this Legislation is making you stay up at night?

It's a shame people refuse to see who the real enemy of the USA is. Then again, they can't face their own fears.

Welcome to the rest of your existance America! Enjoy it.

🙂

As has been said. There are plenty of threads that outline why people don't want this. But none of that matters to you as you've clearly shown in many threads that you're not interested in hearing any viewpoint that challenges your own.

The Republican reasons for this are VERY clear. They don't want Obama to accomplish anything to reverse the down economy because if he does then his chances of getting re-elected are that much better. Mitch McConnell already stated that the Republicans care about nothing, N-O-T-H-I-N-G but getting Obama out of the White House. They know his policies can actually work, but for them to allow them to occur would mean they'd have to care about the American people instead of partisan politics.

Every Republican on this board knows that too, but the first step to becoming a Republican is to sever your conscience.

Did anyone consult those who earn more than a million dollar a year before Obama volunteered them to foot the public sector bill? No? Didn't think so either.

Weren't Repubs for it before they were against it?

They wanted to attach it as an amendment to the China currency bill, force a hurry up vote, remember?

Perhaps that was just insincere grandstanding & obfuscation. Maybe they'd rather drive the economy into the dirt so they can use it as a bludgeon to Beat Obama!

Couldn't be! I'm sure that Repub leaders will denounce tea party calls to not hire anybody and come up with a job creation & preservation plan of their own RSN.

The announcement will come in the form of giant sky-banners towed by squadrons of flying pigs, I'm sure. Watch for it!

They were for everything in that bill BEFORE they were against it...

Considering the effective tax rate (total rate of all taxes vs all income) of the top 1% of earners is at an all time low in this country, who fucking cares what they want. The Republican joke of trickle down and "job creators" has been proven false. Republicans cut taxes on the rich because they were the "job creators". And what'd they do? They got richer while creating no jobs. The top 1% have increased their wealth significantly in the past 10 years while jobs decreased. The corporations in this nation are currently sitting on record cash reserves, while not creating jobs. What was the Republican solution to this? Extend the temporary tax breaks because the rich were obviously worried about losing those tax breaks, that's why they're not creating jobs. What'd the rich do? Well they continued to stockpile money. When will Republicans learn that not a single thing you've ever done in the history of the planet has worked!

Oh, Mew!

America's wealthiest pay the lowest taxes of any first world rich. I can hear Grover Norquist & Steve Schwarzman raving now, about how a lousy half a percent will break their balls off, force them to cease their "Job Creation" activities. It'll be like the invasion of Poland!
