L-O-L :biggrin::thumbsup:
This same thing happened prior to the GTX 480 launch, this is not unexpected. Lots of rumors about grossly exaggerated performance, lots of hype, I look forward to the nonsense ending.
Rumor mill aside, that's the biggest indicator that all is not as it seems here. Even when NVIDIA had zippo with Fermi, there was a lot more marketing hype, exaggerated claims, etc.

Way ahead?

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/515?vs=516

Do they teach you how to count in the UK? Those graphs above clearly show the 590 and 6990 on the same performance level for the vast majority of games. In cases were the 6990 wins, the difference is minor (less than frame per second in a few cases). However, when the GTX 590 wins, it wins hands down, especially in Civilization 5, Arkham City, Dirt 3, and Starcraft 2.

Nonsense, you clearly have trouble reading or applying common sense even if I can't count. Try taking another look without the rose tinted Nvidia Spectacles on. In the most demanding games the 6990 is ahead, Batman is a well known Nvidia outlier (clearly designed to run like crap on AMD hardware) and I think most would agree that 47.5 fps vs 40 in Metro 2033 is rather more significant than 96fps vs 101in Dirt 3. Clearly you are devoid of sense when analysing GPU performance charts. Gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case.

If AMDs prices on the 7000 series is NVs fault then its only fair that NVs prices on Kepler are AMDs fault.

No nVidia are supposed to be our friends remember? They are supposed to satisfy us, not those greedy stockholders! :p

I don't blame either company. They will charge what they can get away with, and 28nm wafers are probably still fairly expensive anyway.

If 560 ti pricing goes down by the rumored $50, then you could get a 560 ti for about $169. That's vs. $250ish for the 7850. :/

I've met em too, if you think turds are cool then fair enough.

Then you haven't. Unless you're definition of their reaction to you throwing eggs at their headquarters was "turdy". LOL

no, it just means that nvidia will force amd to lower theyr prices...just like the gtx 580 got today....

well, unless a 6990 vs 590 happen again, so no companies will drop prices

$550?
http://www.overclock.net/t/1225986/...-arrives-this-month-etc-etc/400#post_16691060

Would suck cause we would get more people whining about the price right? Riiight?
Oh wait I forgot it's AMD's fault lol :D

We should wait for performance numbers. With a price cut for all other cards GTX680 must be much faster than the GTX580 for more than 200€...

But yeah it's AMD fault that nVidia can place their products with such a price. The second player should always be aggressive - with better products or a lower price...

Enough said!

If that is true then that really, really, really, really, really sucks. AMD would probably hold strong at $550 and tout having more vram as an added benefit. We'd be in for a glut of price stagnation.

Seems like supply is too tight for either company to be willing to cut into their margins.

Heh. They are actually some of the coolest people you'd ever meet.

I see how that works. You've only met people working for Nvidia if they were some of the coolest people on earth, otherwise you didn't meet them. Nice. :sneaky: BTW, are they are nice as you?

So, $550. What ever happened to substantial node change value whatever is supposed to happen?

not if it offers +30% performance over the 7970. Then it would be a killer deal!

pics or it didnt happen!!!!

Keys knowing nvidia is plausible.

Some guy who likes to trash talk all of a sudden claims they met them too? that is questionable. Just trash talking.

As far as $550 goes. We dont have any clue what its gonna cost or how well its gonna perform. Why bother complaining now?

I feel like people don't understand the concept of "product segmentation". If you don't want to pay $500/$550 for a GPU, both AMD and NVIDIA make, you know...cheaper cards.
