Ah yes, Mustangs... the pinnacle of fuel-efficiency and interior spaciousness, and nothing faster in rush hour traffic. :D

WRX only does 1 to 3mpg better depending on trans then a auto stang city or highway and the stang runs regular.

I'm 90% sure the V8 Mustang takes premium, but I could be wrong.

And anyway, isn't he ditching the WRX because of how inefficient it is for high-traffic driving? What good is switching from one performance car to another?

Nope. Ownere manual specifically states that it takes regular 87 octane. In fact, if you feed it premium it is worse for the car than regular.

Get an I4 accord. Economical and affordable. And has 5 speed auto which makes it reasonably quick.

Google says you are right. Oops. Oh well.

Still doesn't make it a good choice. :)

Do yourself a favor and don't get the old bodystyle TL.

What is your depreciation like by selling this car so soon? You are going to make the next owner a very happy camper ;)

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of selling my WRX. It's only got 16.5k miles on it. I encounter way too much rush hour traffic on my commute to the new job these days, so I want to switch to an automatic (yeah I know ;)). KBB has the value listed at 20.3k range. Any recommendations on an automatic that I can still have an enjoyable ride with in that price range?

If the clutch is the issue, keep the WRX and start your commute earlier to avoid the traffic.

how about a legacy GT?

if you want something just for the commute, a comfortable, reliable and cheap car, i'd get a corolla.

Mazda6. It's a sportier ride than the Accord and Maxima, and bigger than the 3.

Presumably he would get an I4, in which case the accord has a better auto transmission (5 speed vs 4 speed) and much better highway rated mileage.

Well I decided on a Mazda 3s, I'll be shopping around the dealerships sometime next week. Some of the people I've talked to think I'm nuts downgrading, but speed gets old eventually :p. Color recommendations anyone? I was leaning towards Winning Blue.

Not really interested in an automatic WRX to be honest. If I'm going to sacrifice acceleration and speed, I might as well make it up overall comfort and refinement.

Audi A3 or A4. Available with DSG, you can have your fun w/ the manual and still be lazy and put it into auto.
