Seemed like a good idea at the time

yeah, see. Everyone should have guns! let's just give them away to any numbskull!

:awe:

(I'm fucking with you, nick)

Oh my....when did our sense of self preservation start to go away?

Hopefully he learned a lesson about his distinct lack of invincibility, and of his impressive abundance of utter stupidity.

"It works on TV. What could possibly go wrong?"

With a hot enough bullet getting hit there could have stopped his heart flat out.

Anyone have the following trip to the ER story?

I wish, I'm genuinely curious about what happened after.
It didn't kill him, and the bullet apparently wasn't actually lodged in his chest.

Might as well test the notion that it's possible to unload the entire clip without killing him.

I totally want to get shot while having a bullet proof vest on. While I would never be as retarded as this dude in doing it, I can definitely agree on wanting to do it 😛

Yeah you say that now. Shit ain't cool man. It'll keep the bullet out of your body, but the impact damage is still a bitch.

Yeah, at the very least you could expect a severe bruise. I'm not dumb enough to try this stunt, but if I were I wouldn't volunteer to be shot with anything bigger than a .32

Yeah, severe bruising is certainly the least. Broken/cracked ribs being worse, hitting the sternum wouldn't be fun, also potential internal bleeding. Sounds like great fun. 😛

Wait.. is this real?

Did the bullet get lodged barely past the skin? I'm trying to figure out why so little blood is escaping the wound, and why the guy didn't fall over.

Getting shot in the chest isn't something most people can take standing, and remain standing (and walk around).

I'm guessing the vest slowed the bullet enough that it barely breached the flesh?

Regardless, if that is real, and the man could remain upright and continue to walk around... that is a fairly badass man. Still, I'm guessing it didn't travel very far past that initial entry point.

I think it just pushed enough vest to break skin. I wasn't really paying attention but it was probably a shit ass vest.

That's the other thing I just was thinking - that hole is just fragments of the vest, maybe an escaped bullet fragment.

It looked like a super shitty vest as well. Very thin, probably only designed for off-angle shots of small-caliber rounds.

But, I don't think the typical police vest (worn under your shirt) is actually all that good either - they aren't meant for large-caliber rounds. There's a reason flak jackets are so damn thick - stopping large caliber rounds at a straight-on angle requires a lot of strong material... and military jackets don't always stop the large rifle rounds.

Actually in most cases the entry wound sort of just bleeds like that. For many gun shots all the damage is internal.
