right, it's usually just a trickle. If a lung or internal organ is hit you may spit blood.

A lot of real life gun shots aren't that dramatic.

Of course they're not dramatic. But a shot to the upper chest, in the vicinity of the heart, will certainly result in a signification amount of blood loss.

right. However, most of it will still be internal and more than likely out the mouth and sometimes ears if the shock pops the brain a bit.

Captain O'Hagan: Bulletproof cup, huh? I invented this gag, Rabbit. Only in my day, the rookie got naked.
[fires through the window, accidentally shooting out the glass]
Captain O'Hagan: And we also used blanks. You're a sick motherfucker, Mac.
Mac: Thanks, Chief!

Fake video is obviously fake! If he was really hit in the chest by a bullet, he'd have gone flying backwards at least 10 feet!

(In case anyone thinks that was a serious statement... it's not.)

I wish, I'm genuinely curious about what happened after.

This is super old, it was all over the web a couple of years ago, my mom forwarded it to me a while back in an email chain letter. Supposedly the guy died, as far as the story goes. Later on people were saying the whole thing was fake. Who knows.

this is what Johnny Knoxville did to get the show Jackass and since has became very very rich.

Knoxville started with CKY (Bam Margera and friends), and MTV picked up jackass after that. That shooting bit he did was part of jackass after the show started. (Although it was originally filmed for a Big Brother magazine)

/nitpick ;)

My wife wore a vest for years, so I'm fairly familiar with how they work. There should have been a ceramic plate on the front of the vest that shatters and removes the kinetic energy from the bullet. That vest either had very thin plates or no plates. A vest like that would prevent penetration of small caliber weapons, but not a 9mm at close range.

That guy is an idiot and lucky he didn't die. Why would the moron with the gun aim for his heart????

UPDATE on what happened afterward:
(He lived. A reporter interviewed him.)

"I wasn't trying to make myself look like an incompetent person."

$8K in medical bills. "Um, my Dad has those.":p

I was going to post that video...

First, the newscaster is a fucking wise and beautiful woman.

I respect this guy looking to see what taking a bullet would do to him. IMHO it's no different than the required tear gas training, drowning training, etc soldiers and LEO already go through. IF they could require soldiers to take a bullet or explosion they would...I guarantee that.

It was his choice to do this...now having a drunk friend pull the trigger is a bit of a lapse of judgement, but at close range like this and with a willing target it shouldn't have been a big issue...I think both were moving around too much at the time of shot which fucked those odds up.

In the end the guy is only posting this video for the money from referral sites.

A lot of the comments here show what a bunch of pussies our 'men' are here.

The guy missed the plate.

I know you like to pretend you're a tough guy, but if you think it's no different than the required tear gassing, you're retarded.

The tear gas isn't going to kill you. 1000's of law enforcement personnel have gone through the tear gas/pepper gas. Just a wild guess, it doesn't result in $8,000 worth of medical bills each time... if ever.

what?

most shots to a vest would be a non-event if staged right....lot's of bruising and some mental trauma.

In the video the guy didn't hit the bullet blocker.

I have been shot through my hand BTW.

Are you trying to confirm what I suggested? Guns are lethal. Tear gas is non-lethal. Suggesting that shooting people with bullet proof vests on is the same as subjecting them to a minute of tear gas is about as stupid a thing as I've seen in... at least a couple of days on here.

you were saying I was pretending to be a tough guy. I did go on to talk about drowning tests. In those people die occassionally.
