And now, you will be telling us that it's perfectly fine for a 13-year-old to be arrested for writing/carving the words OKAY on her desk.
:disgust:

She committed a crime and was punished for it. She knew what she was doing and she knew it was wrong. If not, then kids are worse off than I thought.

No wonder you're "alone"

Why, because I think that kids like me weren't punished nor taught well enough in school? You can be damn sure that if four kids were pulled out of class for writing on desks, I sure as hell wouldn't do it again.

It's sad that this is what it takes to get the point across, but even now, some kids just don't give a damn about the property of others. If you're going to vandalize, big or small, you're going to be punished.

I agree that kids should be punished. There's no such thing as "friendly fight" , usually it's much bigger/stronger kid bullying smaller/weaker one or a group picking on one. If this prevents couple suicides here and there, than imo it's worth to punish bullies. Kids 8+ years understand perfectly well what they are doing, and a lot of them abuse the "look i'm only 8-13 yrs old, I don't know anything" defense..

A simple backhand would have worked on the kid.
