I don't get why they flew people from Africa to the US and put them in specialized infectious disease hospitals like Emory and Nebraska Medical, but we get actual cases here in the US and they just leave them to be treated at this random hospital in Dallas? Why wasn't Duncan moved to Atlanta or Nebraska where they actually understand how to treat infectious diseases? Why aren't these nurses being moved there? This hospital is clearly incapable of working with these patients. Also it's astounding to me that someone involved in the treatment of someone with ebola is just allowed to take off on a trip. How can that hospital be that irresponsible?

I don't know. There was some massive failure in protocol at that hospital. Droplet precautions require certain types of PPE and they didn't use it all. PPE is supposed to be taken off in a certain order and it wasn't. You never go above or below your sterile field, which they did (above the elbow and below the shoulders).

And the big one is you never touch your face with a glove you used to treat a patient.

Seriously, it's okay. Close to 5000 Africans have now "officially died" from the disease including something like 300 healthcare workers but the shit's not contagious. Healthcare workers put on full gowns, cover every square-inch of their body, and nuke everything with chemicals... but it's okay.
