Anyone who has to do something in secret is a coward. Not coming forward and being straight about your actions is cowardly.

no, that's bull. everybody's a coward according to you then. everybody does things in secret, every country, etc. you think america doesn't have it's own secrets? you think we just advertise all of our actions to give our enemies fair warning?

Have you never heard the phrase, "suicide is the cowards way out" ?

The problem is we cannot use western standards to judge these fanatics. They think they will go to their heaven and get 40 virgins for what they did. They may have been brainwashed since they were babies by men that just want to use their lives to futher their cause. Why do you never hear of the clerics or the men in power committing these acts? One guess.

Since they did not declare a cause, did not identify thier cause, did not so much as leave a reason for thier acts or for whom or what they represent, I see no way they furthered any cause but to get the US to become stronger than ever... IMHO. In that cause thier deaths cheated their cause by removing our ability to charge them and prosecute them for our sense of justice. They did by not declaring a cause or reason did nothing but murder thousands of people they did not know or have any justifiable reason to murder them. If it was just a cause to destroy the symbols of America they could have picked these targets on a day when they were not populated heavily like a weekend or holiday. They like Timothy McVeigh picked the targets to be destroyed when they knew they would be heavily populated with innocent civilians with no means to guard against their attack.

yes i have and that's true, if you're doing it to avoid something. but i don't think they were trying to do anything other than further their cause. now if it turns out they knocked up a bunch of girls and didn't want to pay child support... then they're cowards ;)

40 virgins, hahaha. To bad for those punks, where they are going, there won't be any virgins.

i think they place too much emphasis on quantity. i'd rather have one hella fine virgin than 40 butt ugly ones.

<< Some Craftsmen tools might be handy, for example, and they're like the best in the world with an unconditional lifetime guarantee I think. >>

1) No they're not. Snap-On tools are actually considered number 1 in the world.

2) As tragic as this event was, has the passage of time slowed so much that everyone who thinks they might have a reason for feel justified in venting their racist remarks can do so with impunity?? Anonymity or no, hiding behind an alais while claiming that "all muslims are freaks/cowards/psychos/terrorists" is placing yourself on the exact same level as those who perpetrated the original crime. If you were actually in or around New York, or have family there, my heart to you. But if you weren't, how can you honestly claim to now live in fear? veeryone spouts off about "justice, vengeance, geneocide, extermination, nuclear war", as if these terms are to be likely taken. How does that make your position on Islam any different then Hitler's views on Jews? Genocide is genocide, no matter how you slice it.

Why did America not do something about Bin Laden before? Are you trying to tell me that a nation with sattelites that can read license plates can't locate someone with ears as big as Bin Laden's?????? How much security did the US give Bin Laden for his war against Russia?? Could it be that America's penchant for "diplomacy" has bitten'em is the @ss this time? Say what you want, but look in the mirror before you go screaming for an American "Jihad", you may see something that looks familiar...

A Warning

I reread the entire thread.

I don't see anyone claiming that "all muslims are freaks" . Show me or stay out of the thread with the political correctness act.

<< stay out of the thread with the political correctness act. >>

I think I'm as politically incorrect as the next, I'm just sick of hearing "bomb this, exterminate that". It was an off-topic off-topic rant, but seeing as how almost no thread in here DOESN'T have some sort of reference, why bother to keep it on-topic at all?

Your words:

<< The problem is we cannot use western standards to judge these fanatics. They think they will go to their heaven and get 40 virgins for what they did. I will stand by those words. Western standards do not apply to fundamentalist Muslims. We cannot judge their bravery or cowardice on the same standards we are used to. Educate yourself if you do not believe that statement.

No one said anything in this thread about "bomb this, exterminate that"

I might be tempted to bomb some thread crappers, but that is just because I had a long day at work. Save it for where it will do some good next time.
