For anyone who bought with Blue, Outpost now has this drive at $149. Knock $30 more off your bottom line. Unfortunately I used my Visa card instead of my Blue card. Oh well.

I've never did a pricematch with the Blue Card before. Do you or anyone else here know if you have to have a fax machine? I remember reading something about faxing them the info. I don't have a fax machine.

This is $30 less than what I paid last month.

I doubt the rebate would come yet. The rebate coupon says claims will be processed within 60 after they receive it.

<< anybody got the rebate now? >>

My general experience with rebates is that they take about 4 to 6 weeks longer than the maximum time stated on the rebate form.

I just looked at the Seagate form and it gives no indication of when to expect the rebate and no contact info.

I received my rebate yesterday but the check is only for $20.00 not $50.00 like the rebate states.
The link to the rebate now shows the same drive with a $20.00 rebate. I purchased the drive from Fry's and was given the rebate form at that time. It was a crappy looking photo copy but it does show the rebate amount of $50.00.

I just tried calling Seagate. The recording said lunch was 11am to ??? and no one would be available till after lunch???? Thought that was kind of weird.

I'm going to call Fry's now and see what they have to say.

Yeah...perhaps this belongs in the rebate tracking thread, but I still have yet to see the rebate show up at www.wheresmyrebate.com ... although, I did mail it in on Jan. 12th (deadline was Jan. 15th) ...I ended up putting the model number instead of the serial # or something, though, and immediately sent a corrected form + letter of explanation...so hopefully, it wasn't a problem...I called Outpost about the rebate, and they told me to call Seagate, and when I called them, they told me to call Outpost...so I called Outpost again, and apparently they know who's handling the rebate...the guy said my first form was probably fine, that they don't mind the small details...hopefully that's right, $50 is a lot of money

I just got off the phone with Seagates rebate center.

The number is (866)487-7646.

The CSR took down some information and said they would be calling me within 2 days and if I didn't receive a call to call back.

Got my rebate yesterday--$20 instead of $50! Called Special Marketing Services, who is doing the rebate, 800-998-8600 x257, they said the $50 ended on the 12/14, and I bought on 12/16. The rebate form clearly said 12/18. Yesterday they said they'd call me back. I called again this morning, left a message, still no reply. Anyone else getting this runaround?

I didn't get mine yet. But the rebate slip definitely does say 12/18. Sounds like Seagate is trying to rip us off. I still have the original PDF file too if they want proof.

I purchased mine on the 17th, so most likely mine will come as a $20 rebate also.

I also received only a $20.00 rebate eventhough I purchased my drive while the $50.00 was still active. I'll be calling as well. Thanks for the phone numbers, and please keep the rest of us updated if you resolve your rebate discrepancies.

Update: Just spoke with a manager at the call center and he informed me that I was the fourth call that he personally received for this particular problem. We briefly discussed how the rebate amount had changed from $50.00 to $20.00 on either 12/18 or 12/19, and eventhough my purchase was made on the 18th and all forms were submitted on time, he thought that that's where the problems lies. He was going to inform his staff that more calls like this will be coming and he said that the discrepancy will be resolved and I will receive my money. I know he only works at the call center, but he was pleasant and helpful and said I should receive a call within 48 hours. The gentleman's name was Sandy.

Update #2: Good News! I just received a call from Angie from the Seagate Rebate Programand she said that I will be receiving the other $30.00. She said that Fry's reprinted the forms incorrectly (the $50 rebate was supposed to end on 12/16), but Seagate was going to honor the forms as they had been printed. She can be reached at 949-553-0890 x240.

got my rebate today - full $50

bought 12/6
mailed 12/12

so it looks like if you ordered before their incorrect cut-off date you should get the full $50

so nice to get a rebate in a timely fashion...nicely done seagate

can someone send me the rebate form in pdf format please? i didn't back it up and i want it to back up my claims that i sent it in.

Whoops, didn't look for the update above before I posted this. But I'll add that there's a toll-free number: 800-998-8600, ask for Angela Brough (rhymes with "show").
