They're going to release them with a PATA interface too?

Yes, the pdf docs a few weeks ago shows pata.. now i dont need to get rid of my old poweredge servers.. on existing 200gb pata drives..

not that many place carries it yet.. as the sata version showed up first

who's actually bought these ?

i just bought a new 1u server and going to drop the 750gb in when i get back from vacation... time to retire the old 1u 200gb pata server..

not sure if I should wait and see if hitachi or wd comes out with their high capacity drives..

I tried to get a 7200.10 as a replacment for my dying 7200.8. They didn't let me for RMA. Their excuse was there are none available. But they're giving me a 7200.9 at least.

I would like to see the 250GB one benched. It's based on 133 GB platters I believe? Or is it still. I remember for the 250 it was a 2 x 133gb platters with the other 16gb disabled....

400 = 125GB platters?
500 = 125gb platters?
320 = 2x160?

Keep in mind that some of those numbers are specifically in relation to the amount of space available on the drives. Don't let that jade your view (positively or negatively) of these drives, or others in the comparison.
