Just so people know, I bought this same drive a few weeks back from FRY's when it was $50 after $50 rebate and just got my rebate back today. This was actually one of the fastest rebates for me, only took like 1 month.

Seagate just now approved my $50 rebate a little over a week after receiving it; still waiting on the CC $20 rebate....this HD will replace my 60gb barracuda that cost me $60 2 yrs ago. Pretty good deal if you ask me....

Nice and quiet. However, 2 days after installing I found my long lost Samsung 40GB hdd. Currently only using 9.19GB of hdd space. 5 years and quiet? Nice for about $60 after tax.

I'm still waiting to see how much of my $50 rebate Seagate decides to pay. Ordered this last month from Outpost. When I checked the status of my rebate online, it reported that my $40 rebate had been approved. After emailing them that the rebate was for $50, they insisted that I fax over a copy of the rebate form as proof. Did that... Haven't received any email confirmation, but the online status now reports that $50 of my $40 rebate offer has been approved. Waiting to see what actually comes in the mail.
