Circuit City has the Seagate 160 GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache for $49.99 AR.

$119.99 - $50 MIR - $20 MIR = $49.99 + taxes

Wow, awesome deal! I've never seen Seagate drives at my local CC. I guess it's a recent addition? I mostly saw WD drives before.

I was just at CC today - no mention of rebates on the tag, and I can't find it on their online store. Where is this deal?

Definitely one of the better ones. I have yet to not get one that I've gone after.

Very hot. Are these quiet? How would this compare with my WD caviar drive?

Look at the weekly ad on the CC website. It shows the $49 AR price so the rebates must print at the register.

The circuit city ad in my area has both rebates listed for a total $70 in rebates bringing the price down to $49.99

However, their website doesn't have both rebates listed :(

I would say seagate drives are one of the quietest drives. The 160gb seagate drive I have is a bit faster than my WD 120gb 8mb cache drive.

As for CC rebates, they are the fastest I have dealt with yet!

Oh no - the $50.00 rebate looks like it goes to Seagate - I don't want to have to fight them for 5 months to get it like my last $50.00 dollar rebate. . . :\

Yeh, save all your paperwork. Plus, I took a picture of everything that went into the envelope, so when they questioned me I had extra proof. I also send it Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. It is worth the $3.85.

Figure on the check coming right around Labor Day

What's nice about the Circuit City rebates is the CSR took my name, address, ect. and it printed it on the form that spit out at the register. Nothing to fill out. Stuff it in the envelope and ship it!

Since I'm working on quieting down my current pc, the last thing whining is my WD 120GB PATA. However, I don't want to wrestle with Seagate on that rebate. I never did one with them and I'm trying to kick the rebate habit. Staples is a different story.

If Seagate is a PITA, then I would pass.

Also, is this offer up to Fry's recent hdd offers?
