I had a P2B-DS (on-board Adaptec SCSI adapter) up and running with W2K on an IDE HD. I pulled it to try a SCSI drive--9.1Gb 80pin Ultra Wide 2 10000RPM Compaq with a 68/80 pin converter. The Bios recognizes the drive and assigns it as Device 0 and ULTRA2-SE. I'm able to partition and format it, but when I try install W2K, I get stop errors, either of:
0X00000050-- PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
0X0000007A-- KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
I'm using the ASUS cable and terminator and everything is at default settings, e.g. termination is enabled for the on-board adapter. If I try to install W98 I get the following fatal error--Standard Mode: Fault outside of MS-DOS extender.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
