when i try to go into safe mode it give me a list of this... multi()disk()rdisk ()partiton(1)/window/system32/driver... and so on... awhole list of it.

That is normal during a safemode boot. Safe mode does take longer than a normal boot.

It should have still booted normally but have large icons due to the generic vga driver

in the safe mode thingy i just give me the list.. but nothing happen it kind a freeze. the screen does not go on.

fredtam is correct in saying that. Windows will default to a generic vga driver if the videocard is disabled.

I still think it can be fixed without a format tho. System Restore etc..

the format was a joke. It seemed to be a fair punishment for him screing with setting just to see what happens. Plus it would teach him a bunch of new things. Like don't format your fcking PC just beacause somebody told you to. 😉

😉

Try booting into safe mode again. When the computer starts up press F8. Choose safe mode. Sometimes it takes a minute or two. Once in safe mode Go to Start> control panel> performance and maintenence> administrative tools > computer management. Device manager will be in the tree to your left. Select it. Scoll down the list on the right and select Display adapter. Double click it. Select use this device. Restart.

May I show a faster way? 🙂 right click my computer/properties/hardware/device manager there ya go. 🙂

In the same list where safe mode is there should be " last known good" select it.
NM see you tried that. Select safe mode with command prompt.

I know the fast way. I find it better to show people with limited PC knowledge the long way so they see other stuff they may need in the future. Which may not be the best idea in this case.
