While PATRIOT is a great tool for violating Americans' civil liberties, it has little to do with terrorism. Its primary effect is removing the checks and balances that discourage abuse by bad cops.
Do the prerequisite reading PA.
Come back when your (sic) smart enough to discuss it intelligently.
With whom?

Not you obviously because you fail to discuss it any detail. Your specific criticisms have been: ____. And your blanket denunciations and assertions that it "is almost universally recognized" as being a bad piece of legislation are not exactly convincing.

And which exact three issues did you raise regarding "playing on our fears"? The domestic performance and Enron quip?

Let's be blunt. President Bush's policies after 9/11 have been in response to the worst attack on US soil since the Civil War (in terms of the number of dead). Since you're critisizing the methods that have been implemented, in your mind, what should the government have done in response to the attacks? Specifically. If you think what has been done is so poor (though you've hardly been specific by any stretch of the imagination), then you must have an idea of what should have been or should be done. Please enlighten us.
