When we murdered 290 Iranians, flying to SA to perform the Hajj in 1988, with a Navy missile, nobody stood trial or apologized...

Damn right it's two wrongs. I see no reason to jump up and down over one when I remember the other.

This scumbag was found guilty of participating in the death of 270 people, including 180 of your fellow countrymen. That fact alone should anger everyone, regardless of other acts of murder, or alleged murder, that may or may not have occurred throughout history.

IOW, wtf does one have to do with the other? What exactly was your point when you referenced the Iranian incident? What exactly were you trying to say?

Why do you even use that avatar? Is it meant to be sarcastic?

How about we jump up and down over both? I'll jump with you.

What he was found guilty of is irrelevant. He was serving a life sentence in Scotland. Due process in Scotland is that if someone has terminal cancer (or something similar) that person is let out of prison a few months before he/she dies. They might make an exception if there is a risk to the public (i.e there is a chance that the person might re-offend) but that is the only time they would NOT let someone out; as far as I know it is extremely rare for someone to actually die while in prison.

Note that there have been over 20 similar cases since the devolution a few years ago so this case is in no way unique; it would have been MORE suprising if they had NOT let him out since the Scottish government were essentially just following their own rules.

So what? Does that mean we release everyone?

The point is Americans have little moral standing in just about any situation that involves the deaths of innocents.

The last time I checked, you were free to leave the country if you hate it so much.
Few other countries would allow him to spew his poison.

He seems to be one of these wanna-be radicals that craves attention.

Nothing ever but one liners railing against the system ever shows in his posts

I suggest you get your facts straight since it was the Scottish government, end of the day whats done is done,I don't agree with it but that's besides the point.

I suggest you refrain from insulting the British, you know how many British soliders are dying everyday in Afghanistan trying to help the country and people?

We all know every country has a perfect track record right including US  .
You need a Geography lesson.

Yep he does ie Scotland has their own government ,hint its north of England .

You guys just don't get it and it seems that you never will. The Europeans think that non-Europeans are mongrels and less than human. Get that in your brains. Hopefully this will at least make some of you less Eurocentric from now on. It will make it so much easier for you when we go to war in a future WW3.

The British are barely doing enough work there considering their historical rape of the region.

The idea is if you don't feel the same amount of anger towards both incidents then you're just a nationalistic monster.

hahahaha what? Last I checked nearly ever first world country has freedom of speech laws. It's not like having a murderous imperialistic military is a prerequisite to having personal freedoms. Keep on justifyin'

The world is still picking up the pieces from the utter horror that was the British Empire. It was the worst thing to ever happen in the world, dwarfing the USA's current foreign policy, those of all cold war participants, etc.

Perhaps that incident and subsequent lack of justice DID anger many of us; but again, WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH AN ENTIRELY SEPARATE INJUSTICE?!

It's called deflection. Rather than addressing this gross injustice, certain people, such as yourself, would rather point to other random injustices committed by our own country. It doesn't make any fucking sense to anyone who is discussing the actual issue, but you guys do it every damn day on here.

Yet another stab at the soldiers, eh? You're one class act.

What, exactly, do you think CC was trying to "justify"?

Also bear in mind this guy only got a 28 year sentence, so it's not like they're releasing a guy with life or on death row, he's almost served his time anyway.

The problem with you is that you are against all the first world countries.
What third/second world countries that you so admire would allow your filth to be spewed forth?

Try to stay on topic rather then trying cheap shots,as for history I suggest you read up on all the countries that have had lets say historic past, you'll find its virtually every country on the planet, getting back on topic you could say end of the day it was down to a minister of the Scottish government that made the decision,it may be the wrong decision for a lot of us but then its nothing new where politics and governments are concerned both at home and world wide.

Why not? It's a logical and reasonable point. How can Americans jump up and down about the injustice of this decision when our own countrymen shot down an airplane full of women and children just a few months prior, and our own govt refused to say sorry and then had the nerve to actually award medals to these murderers.

At least this guy got 15 years, which is a decent chunk of time. Our guys got medals and a pardon.

And then we wonder why the world thinks we're a bunch of hypocrites.

Provide a passenger manifest to support your claim of "airplane full of women and children", or edit your post to reflect the truth.
