"I doubt many protesters would have said they did not want Iraq free, but they knew that no war would keep them under Saddam."

You are exactly right. And just knowing that the only way to save this nation of people and their posterity for goodness-knows-how-long to come was to kick Saddam's ass out, they still chose to protest the act. Their actions speak louder than their words ever can.

War sucks. We all know it, we've probably all been affected by it in some way (My father is a screwed-up j@ack@ss idiot, allegedly from his Vietnam experience...), but the hard truth is this: Sometimes war is the only way. I hate the fact that it's that way, but much as I dislike it, it IS the truth, and only by acknowledging and accepting the truth, no matter how harsh, can we deal with it in an effective manner.

Perhaps 10,000 innocent Iraqis died in this conflict, along with a couple hundred of our own brave and noble soldiers. It was a high price to pay, but the price of NOT acting would have been greater beyond measure for generations to come.

I have a secret desire for California to be governed by a God. Arnold will do just fine. I seen his movies and imagined myself in his shoes, he makes me feel safe and strong. I'm kind of afraid of life and I really only felt safe with my Dad. It's going to feel really good to have Arnold in control. I have a deep internal need for authority. Arnold's an action hero and I just sit in my chair. He's my hero too.

Moonie, I thought I heard somewhere that your Dad left you and your mother. He was in the military also wasn't he?

Not to change the topic or anything, but what about Arnold's Nazi problem?

Slate.com: Why won't he repudiate Kurt Waldheim?

Here's a question Jay Leno forgot to ask Arnold Schwarzenegger when he announced his candidacy for governor of California on last night's Tonight Show: "Will you renounce your support for Kurt Waldheim?"

...

:music:

"Rabbi Marvin Hier told the Jerusalem Post. "He probably did not have any clue as to the seriousness of the allegations against Waldheim at that time [i.e., 1986]. To suggest that Arnold's an anti-Semite is preposterous. He's done more to further the cause of Holocaust awareness than almost any other Hollywood star."

This is a non issue for even the JEWS who are about the most sensitve people on the planet (for good reason mind you) about thier plight... Work on another angle...but Arnold is a good man.

Arnold can barely speak audible english. He has no experience in politics. Running a whole state is much more difficult than saying "I'll be back" in broken English. What is worse is that Arnold is a liberal republican. I don't think he's going to win. As someone said earlier, the tabloids will be going hardcore. We already have allegations of steroids and of him being ladies man. If he wins, Calfornia will be a bigger laughing stock than Rush Limbaugh.

Is that better or worse than the current situation?

ha. u are obviously confusing an accent with knowing the english language. In which case everyone from brooklyn cant speak english either. His accent is no worse than any former southern presidents and if you've heard him speak publicly you would know he is a great speaker with complete mastery of the language. Bush can't even say that.
