I'm waiting on gamestop announcing the pre order bonuses >.<

Also, i just bought a 1080p monitor, gonna hook my PS3 up to that...people tell me the majority of PS3 exclusive games look COMPLETELY stunning on 1080p, including the crappy ones. I remember when i went over to friends place to play SOCOM: CF (which is "ok" as far as graphics-that being i had only played it on 480p[AKA. SD])...the game was completely different in HD, its like it was reborn into a better game. PS3+HD is the best in gaming. 360 can't touch it. If haven't made up your mind, i suggest you get one pronto...because when i got my slim around the holiday season...i had to drive across town for 1 hours to THE ONLY store in tampa that had it, i was calling pretty much anything you can think of that carries electronics. For a week, all i heard was "Sorry, we are sold out". Sony seems to be on top of the situation now...but, you never know. Some extremely good PS3 exclusives coming out...

360 can't touch it? 360 looks the same for all cross platform games.

Not really, most cross-platform games look slightly better on the 360.

If you can only own one the choice should depend on which exclusives you care most about. the controller you prefer, which system your friends have (for online multiplayer) and whether blu-ray matters to you.

Or just buy both and be able to play everything :)

Yeah, on average a lot of multi-platform games are more or less the same, but when one has an advantage over the other, it's usually the X360's version on top.

However hands down the PS3 has the best looking exclusives on console. Hands down. The trick I suppose is custom programming them to the PS3's strengths, which multi-platform developers can't or won't do for any number of reasons. The 360 is simpler for developers we always hear, so that's one reason why some (not all) multi-platform games perform better on it.

When multi-platform development begins on the PS3 first or when they try to take advantage of some of the PS3's strengths (FF XIII, Mirror's Edge, Burnout Paradise) it usually shows in how solid that version ultimately looks. However even then they don't reach the superior look of a lot of PS3 exclusives.

It's the same reason why PC games end up having restrictions - shitty devs. Games could look the exact same on both consoles, but even today, where there is no excuse, devs still don't want to learn the PS3 like they should - but the people that have, IE people who release exclusives, it shows.

I'm talking as far as the quality and graphics of exclusives...the PS3 has the upper hand now.

I mean...really...All the 360 has lived on for the past 6 years have been sequels to Halo, Gears of War, Fable and CoD. Microsoft is running out of ideas for exclusive games. As far as multi-platform games go, it all looks the same...except for FFXIII, ME(as mentioned above) and some others i can't recall. 360 Didn't have HDMI until the Elite came out, PS3 had it from day one and it only continues to improve. Looking 2-4 years ahead, PS3 is going to become dominant, it's written in stone...if i'm wrong, then so may god give you the ability to prove me so.

So far, i havent been overly amazed by the Xbox 360 graphics. But of course, that's because I havent played that many games.

Like I said, this wasnt meant to be a Xbox vs PS3 thread. I have a 360, and am contemplating a PS3 for GT5. I think im set on just buying new (peace of mind) now I need to decide if i should keep the 360 or not

Exactly, playing Uncharted 2 or God of War 3 shows how an exclusive can be.

Unless you game online with a bunch of 360 buddies, sell it to save money. That's the only way to break away from shelling out money every year to Microsoft for peer-to-peer online play with XBL Gold subscriptions. This is ESPECIALLY true now that they are upping the price even more:

Playing online for free is the best game-related advantage the PS3 has right now over the X360 IMHO. Take advantage of it by opting out of XBL while you are in your transition phase and before the fees go up.

You do realize Sony is going to start charging for online gaming as well, right?

Microsoft now requires a 20% higher payment for peer-to-peer online play, a feature that's free on the PS3 and PC, and the best he can do to ease the pain is by randomly claiming that Sony's going to do it too? :p

There, there friend. Just give it a good cry and everything's going to be ok.

Yeah I'm joking, but not really.

I'm just referring to Tristicus claiming in other threads that GT5 is greater than all other racing games, even though it's not even out yet. He's done it multiple times.

^ but seriously, online multiplayer and Netflix are free and will stay free on PSN.

Sony is trying to get people to buy "PSN+" for not very exciting extras like "free" games and background downloads of patches, but they've promised not to require it for existing features.
