The only time Ive been in a real fight was when I was in 8th grade, the other kid was in 7th. I was at soccer practice (middle school sh!tty team) and this little mexican kid kept anoying the sh!t out of me. Eventually he got the ball in a scrimage and I completely took him out, not even going for the ball ;). He then got up, said somethings and started swearing and calling me names. This is where I should point out that I was a 2 degree black belt in Tae kwon Do and had been practicing it for about 8 years.

I then asked the kid if he wanted to fight, and of course that mexican with the hot temper thought about it for a second and then took a swing at me. It was kinda like everything was in slow motion to me, I saw his fist coming at me real slow-like and just grabbed out of the air, kinda like people in kung-fu movies do. He look at me like wtf!!! and took another swing and the same thing happened accept I pulled his arm toward me, grabbed the shoulder with my other hand, and pulled as hard as I could, dislocating his arm. I then pushing him down and walked away. Everyone around was like d@mn, chico got his a$$ kicked.

I didnt even get kicked suspeded from school because it was an after-school program. The school thought that the other kid had learned his leason about picking fights with others because he got hurt. And because he was the only one who tried to take a swing, I only had to tell my side of the story to the principal (le?), which matched what the other 20 witnesses said.

Oh fun days in middle school :p

I've been only in 1 actualy fight that went beyond shoving, and it was back in elementary school.... well actally... to be honest..... i personally don't remember this fight and it's almost entirely based on what people have told me lol.

Apparently I beat this taller white guy up, but I seriously don't remember even being in any confrontation with him. I don't remember that time of my life very well, but I do remember that people (other than my friends) told me that I beat this kid up..... that was my first fight.... i think.....

I dont know if it was a fight. Standing in line, this kid was bothering me. I turned around and punched him in the face and down he went.

I took hapkido for 3 or 4 years. LOVED it. Definitely some heavyduty stuff. I tought my wife some basic things and she took out a guy's forearm at a department store a few years ago. Funny stuff. The guy thought she took something out of his cart (dumb) and he grabbed her hand and wouldn't let go. She rotated her hand 180 degrees around his (so it was atop his wrist/forearm), locked her arm, grabbed his hand with her other hand, and just beared down on it. She said the guy dropped like a brick and everyone around just froze. The store manager tossed the guy out without even asking what happened.

yeap. its to make sure you walk away from the fight.

i remember a kid that knew tae kwon doe (sp?) and got into a fight with another kid who knew whoop yo as$. needless to say, that kid got the tae knocked out of his doe.:D
If you're REALLY fast and really agressive you can be devastating in a street fight with TKD. But most people are too slow to effectively use a martial art that relies so heavily on elaborate kicks. Plus TKD is useless the minute you both hit the ground. In a way TKD is worse than useless because it can give you false confidence - it can get you into more trouble than it can get you out of.

If I ever get back into martial arts I think I'll do tai chi and hapkido - tai chi for the balance, flexibility and discipline, and hapkido for defense.

Kicked in the balls in 3rd grade by some a$$shat, he didn't get any suspension. He goes to another school after the end of the year.

Jump forward to 8th grade, I find him going to the same JHS except he's so dumb he got left back a year.
I approach him after school one day, ask him if he remembered me. Gave him a jawbreaker.

yah, in grade school.. were were in line, waiting to go into the building for class to start.. i unzipped the backpack of a guy in front of me as a joke.. he got seriously offended, and called me out for a fight after school.. well after school he and a couple of his croonies stepped up.. they tried to do the stupid "kneel behind the guy while other guy shoves him" trick.. i saw it.. dodged the guy behind me, and just stood my ground.. my little cousin who was probably in 2nd grade at the time came up crying and tried to pull me away to get me to stop fighting.. the dude tried a swing at me which i dodged, but i couldn't do much cuase my cousin was standing there.. it was all over in like 2 minutes.. no one hurt.. we were sent to the principal.. reprimanded, but no one was suspended.. never talked to the guy again.. although oen of his croonies (the one who tried to trip me) became a good friend of mine

It was weird... Ive never been in a fist fight..... people tried to start things with me many times, but I would either just shove them and send them flying, or pick them up and throw them into a wall... Needless to say i didnt get in many fights. I was always the tallest/strongest kid...

Lol this one time the kid was mad at me for some reason and tried to hit me in the head with the dodgeball. I smacked him in the head in return with the dodgeball

We went into the locker room and tried to shove me. I shoved him and he went airborn and hit 2 chairs and then the cement wall....

some people are just stupid :-/

Yes I fought at least once a week in school. High school had 1 fight where I head butte'd the guy in the nose with the back of my head, then never fought again. My last fight was almost 3 years ago...serious fight too, but I don't wanna get into details. Don't really like to fight but sometimes you just don't have a choice or there is something that words cannot solve.

like a fist fight?

three times... once in second grade because this other kid was being a douche, another time in junior high because I accidently called some thug a woman, and once in high school because I was trash talking someone in the locker room and he overheard me.

Shens. Please don't take this personally, but I don't recall TKD teaching anything about ripping a punch out of mid-air and pulling people's shoulders out of their sockets. TKD is 80% fancy kicks and 20% punches (sorry... not trying to knock it, that's just what it is).

I guess there's also the possibility that your instructor was teaching you some home brew fighting system and calling it TKD for marketing purposes, which wouldn't surprise me... there's a LOT of that.

In 6th grade, I got into a fight with this big 5th grader because he kept making fun of me on a daily basis. He was a tough kid but I got him to the brink of tears and sadly enough, all the girls started asking him out afterwards because they felt sorry for him. As for me, all the girls hated my guts while the guys were praising me for fighting him because he was the big bully on campus.

Hrmm. I've taken TKD, do hop sul (sp?), karate, and Akido. Never got very far in terms of belts with any of them except brown for karate and TKD. Despite the fact that getting belts is easy by just showing up a few times, learning a kata and doing it in front of someone or breaking a board or smacking a flying kick into a punching bag. Those were the usual tests. TKD at least made you spar for the 3+ belt if I remember correctly. But yah, I remember not even squaring off with people in terms of sparring with either karate or TKD until I had gone 3 belts up. I don't remember the colors and really it doesn't matter because I know tha everyone does the belt color succession in a different order except white and black.

Now, akido, day one until a year later I was working with someone and rolling around on a mat learning moves, holds, grabs, breaks, and crap. First night I was there I got to spar with the "instructor" since I had prior martial arts training. He drops me to the ground and does an "Around the World" which means while on top he spins his body on mine and in turn it rotates the arms and shoulders of ther person below you so that they are completely pinned if they don't know how to breath pop out of it. I knew it so I did it right back to him :) Breath in, Arch back, Kick out roll over, do around the world from the back where it's much more painful because the arms don't mind rotating forward, they don't like rotating backwards at all. Everyone else in the class froze when they saw me wrap up the instructor like that.

Of course, he never let me do that again either. I think he took me for granted because he figured, oh he's only had TKD and karate training, he wouldn't know this. Sorry buddy, I may have had formal training with those forms of martial arts but I grew up with a different kind of training as a scrapper and I knew how to grapple in my own way. Not to say I knew a whole lot, as the instructor proved repeatedly through the rest of that year we sqaured off but it was certainly more.

Usually though, martial arts training doesn't mean you win fights automatically. Really, it doesn't. I know some black belts from all sorts of schools of training but in a real fight, things don't always go according to the training in a classroom environment. They just don't. Not to say that there aren't some martial arts guys I know that I'd run from in a heartbeat, it's just I find it funny sometimes when I hear some people talking big because they were in or that. It makes no difference what you took if you can't use it properly. There's just too many variables in fighting. You try to control as much as you can but sometimes, you are going to get your butt handed to you.

Red hair? Girl in a brawl? wow.

Only girl I've seen in a brawl and not a cat fight was a girl I got into a fight with in middle school in Hawaii. She was of Samoan decent and was like 6'1" in 7th grade as girl already and probably around 180 pounds and it wasn't all fat. There belly was but more like a beer gut like guys get. First time I saw her I thought she was a guy and she had a hideous left hand that looked like it was cooked in a oven but it was actually a birthmark. I was like 5'4" at the time and about 100 lbs and this chick got mad at me one day. She acted just like a guy and always ran her mouth off. I told her to shut it one day and she stood up in the middle of class, picked up her desk and hurled it at me. Nearly caught me too because I wasn't exepcting her to do that nor did I ever expect a girl to hurl a DESK 20 feet across the room and almost hit me with it. She picked up her chair next and charge me through the class room while bowling people over in her way. I ducked by falling to the floor (played goalie in soccer for 18 years so I can drop the the ground fast without it hurting) just time as she swung the chair wildly at my head. I saw my opportunity since swinging the chair took her way off balance when it didn't collide with me and I punched her either right in the gut or right in the cooch as I was getting up. No sure which it was and I don't think I ever really want to remember, but she fell over either way and didn't get back up.

Needless to say, I was fighting just about every Samoan in that school after that since they all seemed to be related in some fashion :|

But that was the ONLY girl I've ever seen get in a brawl in school. Was your's an actual fisticuffs fight like the one I described above? If so.. I want details :) I also want pics of this red hair you speak of ;)

if you even nudge a kid too hard BOTH people get suspended
