Damn near every single day.....

Actually the oldest memory I have is this.

I was in preschool for my first time and my first day. I was living in Holland and spoke only English. I remember being scared when my parents dropped me off. The teacher spoke a heavily accented English and I thought it was wierd. I think I remember crying but I can't be sure since it was like when I was 3. I don't remember more details until it was I think recess and the teachers let us outside to play. There was a sand box off the porch of the little school. I still remember the place like the back of my hand for some reason.

Well anyways, there were 3 other kids in the sand box that I could see. A girl and two boys which were platnium blonde headed twins. I had been mostly quite through out the day because none of the other kids spoke English at all but I didn't really know that back then. I went over to the sandbox and started messing with the sand. One of the twins said something to me in Dutch, I said something back in English. At this point the kid picks up the shovel and slams it into my face and I black out. I woke up in the hospital hours later. Ohh.. it wasn't like one of those tiny plastic kid shovels. It was more of a miniture wood and metal shovel used in gardens and such but not quite as small as a hand shovel.

From that day on in Holland, it was a fight every day until second grade when I moved back to the states. Which didn't end the fighting because I was still different. I was mostly deaf growing up until 11 so I spoke really bad and accented English and was still taking speech therapy class. I was also one of the smallest kids but I learned early on to hold my own. Didn't stop kids from fighting with me. If one attacked me and I beat him down, he'd bring a friend. If I beat them both down, they'd just bring more if they could. From 2nd to 6th grade I didn't have a single friend. I know it's sad but there wasn't another kid I played with or hung out with or did anything with. Made my parents really worried and I even went to a few a child psychologist over the year. I basically at that point in my life hated ALL other children and didn't want to be near other kids because if I was near them they all wanted to fight me (well I know now not all but I was a kid back then and that's the way it seemed to me with every kid making fun of me because I couldn't hear or speak correctly and was different).

Went on like this from 2nd grade in the states until 6th grade when I moved to Hawaii. Now, I was the smallest white boy in the school and there wasn't a whole lot of small kids and even less white boys. Think racial hate the otherway around. The difference was by now, if they didn't bring weapons or a posse with them I was going to beat the crap out of most people that messed with me :) Practice does help at least when people are trying to fight you every day. I've had enough broken bones and trips to the hospital to last most people ten lifetimes. At least by the time I was in highschool I was hearing every as well if not better then anyone else, finally cured of my problems, and speaking "better" if not the best.

It wasn't until I finally moved away from Hawaii in my sophomore year back to the states that I wasn't literally in a fight nearly every day. I still had a few fights but maybe 1 or 2 every few months. Nothing major. Only problem was when Judson High instituted that stupid zero tolerance policy rule. If you got into a fight, even if you were attacked and defending yourself you still got punished. Never once had I actually been in trouble for fighting because most of the time the adults never found out and because never once did I start a fight in school. Well at least the few fights that got caught at Judson I only got a 3 day suspension and the other kid either got sent to the "alternative" campus for the bad kids with a week or more suspension or expelled completely.

I doubt anyone here has been in as many fights as I have. Yes, I was bullied everywhere I went but intead of taking it I always fought back. Didn't do so good when I was younger but as I said, practice every day for years, take a few years of karate and a few other martial arts classes and I could hold my own against just about anyone I've ran into.

wtF?

Long story short, fvcker used to pick on me all the time for being AZN know what I'm sayin? The teacher knew that I took a lot of crap and so did the principal. We got into fights all the time like everyday. That one day he took something my father gave me as a gift and broke it. I got mad so I pulled a knife on him and when he turned around to run away I caught him right in the right cheek and then beat him up real bad. I got hurt too cuz the knife kinda scraped my hands at the same time but the stupid school suspended me but also suspended him.

I kind of had a George McFly moment. Still smile as I reflect on it.

In junior high, this a$$hole always pushed me around for no reason. He was 6'0 and i hadn't hit my growth spurt yet so he was substantially taller than me. Anyways we were changing in the locker room at gym and as I was done he slammed my face into the opened locker door. My nose directly hit the locker and as you know, when your nose gets hit hard, you automatically tear up. So my nose hurt like hell. He just stood there laughing, and finally I got pissed enough to deck him in the face. Never saw a guy his size go down like that before. Everyone laughed at him and he never picked on me again. Definitely a defining moment, character-wise.

Later in life (high school) he almost killed his friend (who was car surfing while the a$$hole was driving) by slamming on the brakes, throwing him into a tree. Kid could barely walk/talk after that.

ah now I understand deathkoba

I know what it's like to be in a fight every day for being different then everyone else. Thinking back, I had a LOT of hate for other children that I pent up and I'm suprised I didn't snap and go whacko looking back. That might be because I usually gave my licks back as good or usually better then what I got. I still remember one fight I got into in hawaii right after PE class and we were getting water at a water fountain. As I was drinking, some tard that says crap to me every day slammed my face into the fountain as I bent over to drink. I turn around and drop him from a slug in the face, but unbeknownst to me, 7 of his buds were standing right behind him in line. I'm not sure what happened next except that the PE teacher was dragging me off one kid as I was slamming his face into the tile of the floor and all the other kids weren't moving and strewn about the ground. I walked out of that with some majorly bruised ribs (I do remember being kicked there a few times at onepoint), a really good shiner, and a fat lip. Everyone else had dislocated or broken bones. the PE teacher took one look at the situation and told me to get the hell out of there. I never got in trouble for it and they all got suspended for a week or so.

I almost got my arse reamed in high school. This big tough guy transferred in from out of town and started going after this girl I liked. He was bad news. I mentioned some things to her about him and it came back that I said them; mainly because he & I sat next to each other in art class.

After that he moved to the other side of the room, which didn't really matter. What mattered was, he told me that after class I was getting my face rearranged.

After class I walked out to the hallway and waited for him. Since he was on the other side of the room, it took him a minute or two to get there. When he walked out of the room, he asked what I was doing there. I told him I did say those things because I liked her and I deserved what was coming. I told him to get it over with.

He then looked at me and said he didn't feel like fighting that day. After that he never spoke a word or bothered me again. And he didn't get the girl; neither did I, but that was okay. :)

I did have an incident in high school that I just remembered because of the other foreign language thread. I would hardly classify it as a fight. It was my Junior year and we had this guy in our French class that never shut up. Anytime anyone would say something, he would just ridicule the hell out of them. Anyway, no one really took the guy seriously. He was just one of those people that everyone pretty much pretended didn't exist. He was on the football team... not sure what position... but he never saw a minute of play. He wasn't huge or small or anything, fairly average. Anyway, one day we're leaving the classroom after the bell rang and he's just going on and on about one of my friends in the class (this friend actually ended up becoming my wife... but she and I didn't date in HS). Without even thinking, I just shoved the guy into the wall on the way out. I didn't square off with him or anything... just shoved him as I walked by. He ran back into the classroom to tattle. The teacher basically told him to go pound sand. He wasn't silent after that, but he was measureably quieter. He was one of those guys that would try to start sh1t with people but when push came to shove he'd try to act like he was just kidding around and you "misunderstood" him.

Unfortunately for him, a lot of people "misunderstood" him.

unfortunately i got in a bunch.

I was one of the smallest kids in school. My SR year i wrestled varsity at 119! i was short 5'3"

So i was the target of bullies. I learned early the only way to deal with them is to stand up to them. Most times they would try to put me in a garbage can or toilet. But since i have been in martial arts (hap-ki-do) and have wrestled since 6yrs old i know hot to reverse such things or at least keep from going in heh.

been in my share of fights. won more then i lost but got my rear kicked a few times.

Only one guy picked on me all through high school. he was 6'2 185 or so. big boy. got into a bunch of fights (i lost 90% heh) but i never backed down. when I was 28 or so while in a bar having drinks with friends he came over and baught me a beer. He apologized for being so mean. He said he was so used to having everyone do what he said (was very popular) that he got mad when i didn't and got madder when i stood up to him heh.

While i loved highschool. sure glad it does not happen now heh.

I took hapkido for 3 or 4 years. LOVED it. Definitely some heavyduty stuff. I tought my wife some basic things and she took out a guy's forearm at a department store a few years ago. Funny stuff. The guy thought she took something out of his cart (dumb) and he grabbed her hand and wouldn't let go. She rotated her hand 180 degrees around his (so it was atop his wrist/forearm), locked her arm, grabbed his hand with her other hand, and just beared down on it. She said the guy dropped like a brick and everyone around just froze. The store manager tossed the guy out without even asking what happened.

LOL, just makin sure :)

Actually I got in another fight with Jeremy in junior high, he was kind of a skinny kid and I was fat, and he started making fun of my weight. So I pushed him up against the lockers and told him to cut it out, and then walked away. He ran up behind me and sucker punched me in the back of the head. I got a decent sized lump, but he came in the next day with a cast on his hand, he broke a bone on my skull :D

I don't know where you went to school, but it was ALWAYS the bigger guys who pushed people around in my schools. And I should know, beacuse I was one of the "runts," as you so elequently put it. Seems to me you have issues dealing with the fact that you were a child asshole. :p

I don't doubt that for a second. The place where I took Hapkido also taught Tae Kwon Do, and if you took one you could take the other for free, so I took TKD classes every now and then. It's incredible excersise, don't get me wrong, but anyone who depends on TKD in a fight is going to get the hurt put on them. But Hapkido and Jiu-Jitsu are pretty intense stuff. They don't rely on inefficient/wild body movements like TKD does. Also, one well-placed kick from a TKD practioner will leave you in pain, and that's if it was executed with precision. Even a semi-well-executed maneuver/counterattack from someone who knowsn Jiu Jitsu or Hapkido will leave you without the use of one of your limbs, and if they're pissed off enough, they can permanently incapacitate you within seconds.

a few. I was always a nerdy kid in middle school, so alot of the more popular kids tried to fu[/i]ck with me. I remember walking home from school and a bunch of them jumped me. Their ring leader, this kid mike, and i squared off, and I broke his nose. Then all his friends jumped me. If a couple of my friends hadn't been walking home from a scratch baseball game with bats, I'd been screwed.
