The Sceptre was gone when I got to Costco this past Wednesday but the same deal was available on the Viewsonic 22". so for $299.99 + tax, I'm viewing as I write this reply.
I'm very satisfied with this 22" and glad I decided to go for this LCD. I originally wanted a 2407 but it was $699.99. I wasable to get a 4800+, some HDDs and an ATI FireGL for the difference.

Well, I went with the Viewsonic instead not knowing that this was still available. The Viewsonic can be found B&M and has a $50 instant savings coupon taken at the register so the tax is calculated for the $299.99 instead of $329.99. The Sceptre seems to be available online only which can be a hassle to return. The only problem with the Viewsonic one is the lack of HDMI input.

Returns are the same regardless of whether you buy online or in-store.

I've had the X-9g gamer for a little over a year and I am nothing but pleased with this brand of monitor. I'm looking forward to seeing the UPS truck next week.

UPS delivered the new monitor today. I drove home to get the box off the porch and I went ahead and hooked it up. So far so good, but I only had a few minutes to power it up and verify there were no dead pixels. :thumbsup:

OK, the Sceptre arrived late yesterday...and is gone already, back to Costco:

* Tons of light bleeding around all edges, but especially at top and bottom. Changing the angle did nothing;

* Picture just seemed kind of grainy at native res, through DVI. A lot more ghosting playing Day of Defeat:Source and Half-Life 2 than I would have thought;

* Decided to see what it looked like through VGA...ugh, what a mess. Blurry and at the default brightness level it looked like a TV getting really bad reception, ala a snowstorm. I'd say the analog circuitry was shot. Tried three different cables and connected it to two different PC's with the same unacceptable results.

So, took it back to Costco and got a Viewsonic 22" instead. The Viewsonic had one stuck pixel that was fixed with some light pressure, and *much* better picture in both DVI and VGA. Less ghosting, too, and much less light bleeding.

Also, the Sceptre just seemed really cheap in materials and finish. The Viewsonic comes across as a much higher quality monitor, for maybe $25 or $50 more. Don't know if I just got stuck with a bad Sceptre or what, but I certainly wasn't impressed.

I'm glad someone already dislikes the Sceptre and likes the Viewsonic because I'm going to get the Viewsonic tonight in-store, anyhow.
I did look at the Viewsonic in-store over the w/e and it did look nice but not enough to convince me to take her home until I see more reviews on the Sceptre and now the verdict is in.

just picked up the Viewsonic tonight.
Fired it up.
Fairly big & nice!
No dead pixel found.
Looks like a keeper.

got the sceptre. The stand sucks. My desk is pretty stable so it doesn't shake a lot, but I could imagine it being a problem with a crappy desk.

It's way too bright, but I turned down the black level (brightness) and got it looking pretty good.

The actual 'case' looks a LOT better than the viewsonic.. I looked at the viewsonic in person and those speakers underneath the display are ugggly.

Ordering one today before the deal ends...

Does it come with the DVI cable? What model viewsonic (22") are you guys all referring to? Thanks.

Comes with DVI and VGA cable. I'm not sure of the model, but look at costco.com. Arg.. the stand is bouncy and annoying. I might by a wall mount lcd arm or something

Reading threads similar to this one on other sites, e.g. the [ H ] thread, no one seems to be mentioning the stand. Not sure if it's because they have sturdier desks, or what, but the monitor looks pretty nice, and that viewsonic is FUGLY, so I'm ordering the sceptre now. I have a big sturdy desk and the monitor will be about 2 feet from my keyboard at all times, so hopefully it won't wobble...if it does, Costco return policy to the rescue! I'll post pics and a brief review when it arrives.

I don't it's so much that it's wobbly, it's that even at the most downward tilt setting the monitor is still a little tilted up. Sitting further away and using a keyboard tray means alot of times the monitor needs to be level or even angled down a tad.

Plus those neo stands staples was clearing out for 20 bones is kinda a no brainer. It's a really nice stand and makes things all good.

for those who didn't pull the trigger on this, I suggest taking a look at the olevia 23" stickied thread. I ordered one yesterday(after a few calls to tiger direct to clear some things up). I haven't gotten it yet of course, but at $369 shipped it is a very good deal as far as I can tell. Nice resolution, 1600:1 (some say 1000:1), 1080i, and HDMI (HDCP).

Just got the Viewsonic 22" yesterday and it is great Very sharp. I had to turn the brightness down as well as the contrast. Colors are vivid as well. Got it at Costco, they also had the Septre and Princeton 22"ers there also. The Viewsonic seemed to have a better build quality to it than the other two. Not crazy about the speaker arrangement but the rest is great. $299.00 + tax w/$50.00 off coupon.
