14 years later, this movie STILL haunts me.

The first time I saw that movie.... man I got scared... but then I got a condition... see my previous post...

but then after that when I watched it, it didn't scare me anymore....

Watching both Alien and The Thing at a young age....especially since we had hardwood floors (going down the hall to the bathroom at night reminded me of the end of the Thing, where the giant monster is pushing up the boards...) and air heating....(the Ventilation system).

Have been traumatized ever since.

Oh and the Ring gets a partial vote since a friend of mine bought the DVD, put it in....I left after about 30 seconds...I HATE suspense.

My older brother would take me with him when I was young to watch all the Nightmare on Elm Street's, those used to scare the sh!t outta me.

But no movie scares me anymore. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (New) was pretty f'ed up though.

Yah Stephen King.. werewolves.. lots of blood = scary to me when I was younger. It doesn't really do it for me anymore.

Ginger Snaps is a good new school werewolf movie if you haven't seen that one.

i agree, i think that's a scary one too. it's a good, scary movie.

but i would vote for this little B-movie slasher from the 80s. i don't know if anybody here ever watched it. but this is my favourite scary movie of all time, with all its lameness.

Come to think of it, IT was probably the only movie that ever scared me.

I wonder why someone can't make an incredibly scary story that is just scary with the story itself and then use the effects and illusions of film to make it even more creepy. I've yet to find a movie that can scare damn near anyone.

Edit: come to think about it, the old man in Poltergeist II (through the screen door, LET ME IN dude) was creepy in and of himself. The movie though, wasn't scary in general besides him.

The Ring is pretty scarry, thou it lost some of it's scare factor when some sh!t pulled the fire alarm during the middle of the movie so it stopped. Kinda takes the suspension of disbelief out that way.

There is a trailor for a Japanese movie from the people that made Ringu(the original Ring) it it looks creepy as hell.

That is the only movie where I was scared when I watched it, I guess being in a dark house alone at night with the lights off didnt help anything.

Writer's name in the story: Sutter Cane - S.C. Remarkably close to Stephen King - S.K.

I can't remember the title of the original short story (it may have been In the Mouth of Madness) but I think it was sort of a tribute to H.P. Lovecraft. Just with a distinctly Stephen King style of horror.

The best exemplification of H.P. Lovecraft-esque horror in modern media has to be Eternal Darkness for the GameCube, by the way. Really nails the feel.
