I am unable to imagine Tim Curry as anything BUT Pennywise after seeing the film version of IT.

BTW, anybody else think that King was inspired as to IT's true form by Tolkien's Shelob?

Besides The Exorcist,

Profondo rosso (Deep Red) by Dario Argento

Others:

Nightmare on Elm Street
Dead Alive (goriest movie ever)
Wicker Man (best horror movie ever)

What's so scary about the Exorcist? I've seen episodes of Scooby Doo that creeped me out more than that movie, I don't get it. 😕

I didn't think it was scary either. It was mostly gore and explicit language (from the little girl).

<< I actualy didnt think Exorcist was that scary. Maybe because it was hyped so much... >>

I have never had the pleasure of seeing the movie, but I read the book.

Read it. With one light on. At night, during a storm. It actually DOES get scary. To me anyway 🙂

Then again, I get scared at such masterpieces as Bats, Glitter, and anything concerning Julia Roberts 😀

These are the most recent ones I've found disturbing:

Candyman
The Mothman Prophecies
What Lies Beneath
The Relic
Stir of Echoes

and the number one most disturbing movie EVER:

EVENT HORIZON

My f**king lord, that movie went beyond all boundaries of disgusting. I can't even look at the box without freaking out. Ugh.

YES! Man that is FREAKY! TRY and watch that one, it is wrong on MANY levels. Dr. Weir? Is that you?

Nightmare On Elm Street. I had nightmares for weeks after watching this movie when I was a kid. Have not seen it in a long time, but it was freaky.

It's funny seeing the range of what scares people. I've seen TONS of people here recommend Event Horizon, saying it was so incredibly scary, yadda yadda, etc. etc. I thought the movie was awful. Didn't think it was scary OR well written, etc...

But, on the other hand, I thought the Blair Witch Project was incredibly scary and creepy, and most people here think it sucks. I guess it depends on whether or not you like to think about something being scary or see a special effects team's interpretation of what's scary. 😛

i feel like a little girl saying it...but blair witch project phuct me up for weeks
haven't been campin since

Session 9.

No ifs, ands, or buts - this is the scariest movie I've ever seen, and I usually snicker through horror movies, including Blair Witch.
