No seriously....besides the movies listed, I liked I Spit on Your Grave...it's about a gal who goes on a gruesome killing spree to guys who did nasty things to her.

still cant find "ring" or, "The Ring", or "whatever its called that is a japanese movie that has the title word RING in it"

can someone post a link that sells it at least?

this seems harder than it should.

Found from this site:

As of this writing it (Ring) remains commercially unavailable in the United States, though work on an American remake is underway.

Apparently, Miramax/Disney bought the rights to the remake for the US so don't expect to see a region 1 dvd release of this movie with english subtitles in the near future. I saw it on a bootleg videocd...thought it was whatever. im too jaded for scary movies now.

Buy it on the net then,... yes.. before hollywood screws this one up

Did I watch the wrong movie? i saw event horizon, not scary at all, it's the one with Lawrence Fishburne and Sam Neill right? Maybe it was another event horizon. But the one that I saw wasn't scary at all, the one about they found an abandon spaceship or something. Bleh, what's so scary about it?

Not so much scary as it was horrifying. Too much gore, and I have a strong stomach to boot. I think it was the constant screaming and abundant lack of eyeballs that did me in.

Gore in Event Horizon? Huh? Ok maybe little, but very very little... now, "Dead Alive" and "Re-Animator" contain some real gore 😉

Event Horizon was a damn great sci-fi movie, but personally I didn't find it even a bit scary nor horrifying..

Re-Animator was truly a gorefest, but also tongue-in-cheek, so one is laughing through it. Another movie from the same makers, with the same actors, and also based on H. P. Lovecraft was
From Beyond--lots of gore, but not very scary.

Sten: Were you talking about the British Day of the Triffids? Excellent movie, good book too. I read the novel when I was little, but didn't see the movie till when I was in my 20s. Not scary for adults, but maybe for kids. Excellent science fiction premise.

<< Ring scariest sh*t ever made >>

Rented and saw it with my then gf a couple of years back. This was at night, pretty late, but just as we got past the scene with the well, my parents called. Scared the crap out of both of us.

HAHA so it was the phone and NOT the movie?? I havent seen it, so maybe i'll rent it.

I won't ruin the experience for you but video/tv and phone calls are a very big part of the plot. Gets really scary. I would suggest watching it at night with the lights out. Oh, and you might want somebody to watch it with you😉

<< Hellraiser, especially the second one: Hellbound.

I know--It's just a gorefest, but it gave me nightmares!!

it's not just the gore, it's also the sense of overwhelming dread that makes the hellraiser series #1 on my list of frightening movies.

Hmmm, I've been surfing around and I think that might have been it. I believe it must have been the BBC version.
BBC Triffid

Thanks!
