Scam? Restaurant offered to cut steak for me

Because it was a large steak meant for multiple (two in this case) people. If it's not a 'shared' meal then I've never had them offer to cut it, if it's one of the huge cuts of beef meant for multiple people then I've always had them at least offer.

Looked just like this. To me it's just a silly visual trick to make it look like there is more meat on the plate than there really is (spread out slices). Lol.Or they have precut stuff in the back. cooks faster?

Pointless since you still have to cut. And i eat slowly so it gets colder faster.

As has been stated, it's a single plate designed for two people to eat. If they don't pre-cut, which makes it easy for you to serve yourself from the common plate, then you and the other patron will be forced to reach across your own plates to cut the steak on the common plate.

You'd probably also cut WITH the grain.

I have seen a restaurant in Asia(Singapore in this case) offer to de bone crabs. Some rich Japanese ordered a few fry crabs when it arrive they tell the server take the meat out of it, they dude was standing there for 1/2 and hour cracking crabs and take the meat out.

In Thailand some restaurant offer to feed you in the month.

You do aware in Asia, people don't just eat the legs right? The leg plus every bit of meat in the body. Take them out and clean every bit of shell from the meat do take a long time.

We've had that offered once at a high end steakhouse. They cut it tableside and not in the back of the kitchen though.
