hey owe Novell 95% of what they made selling unix [licenses] during the period when they did not own it .
They were only supposed to keep 5% as an administrative fee.

Cliffs: SCO sues a bunch of companies (including Red Hat and IBM) claiming that Linux infringes of its patents. SCO claims it owns Unix. Novell claims that it, not SCO, owns Unix. SCO sues Novell for slander. Novell wins and SCO owes Novell the royalties that it collected on the patents.
