Anybody else experiencing substantial service reduction. My DSL line is whimpering at slower than 56k speeds! :disgust:

Nope. My cable connection is nice and, uh, working. 3mbps baby!
Your cable line isn't being affected by SBC? NO WAY!

I was boasting that cable rocks and DSL sucks balls.

My DSL is faster then your cable. SBC does offer faster the 1.5 megabits now :)

The 6000/608 ROCKS........better then the crappy 128K upload :)

Mine is fine. Why would it get slower? Does the DSL service need constant supervision to maintain speed?

$45 it's a dynamic IP you can get static if you want but truthfully the IP doesn't change that often.

I share with 4 people which lowers the cost way below what dialup would cost.

No problems yet, but I hope to god I don't have to call customer service for 4 days:(

It's bad enough when they're working...

here's an idea, look for someone other than SBC to get your internet through, sure they're cheap... but there's ZERO love when it comes to customer support, and they dont care about you at all if you've got an outage. there's a lot of companies out there that actually will use SBC's lines for their service. My father has SBC for dsl, and is constantly complaing that it's down... I've got netplex, and have NEVER had an outage that wasnt my fault (ie my router / home network stuffs)

here's an example
