I agree. Guns have only one purpose and that's to kill. I don't understand why you all want/need one so bad.

You troll all gun threads. Please stop.

It?s not his fault he's such a puss. He?s probably from Canada or something.;)

Plus there no safties, tap and rack drills or doohickies to mess with when you pull the trigger it goes bang if you have a misfire you just pull the trigger again. Just get a couple speed loaders if you're worried about capacity. :)

There isn't a safety on mine minus the trigger safety(and the internal ones to protect against drops) which is a standard Glock trigger safety. It doesn't prevent the trigger from being fired unless it is pulled from an angle. Otherwise all you do is pull the trigger and the safety automatically disengages. There is nothing to fiddle around with. You pull the trigger and it goes bang. And yes, I'd hope to hit with my first shots, but in an adenaline packed situation sometimes you hit and the person still doesn't go down, or you haven't hit them in a good spot. I also must point out that you have a better chance of supressing fire with a higher capacity gun,but I'd hope I never encounter such a situation and severely doubt I ever will .

Thats my hope to but I hope I have my hi-cap nine or .357 if I'm ever involved in such a situation. :)

Just remember, you only use a handgun to fight your way to a rifle.;)

Heh, I really hate to think about it. The worst case scenario is when you'd encounter numerous armed home-invaders. Sounds like a job for a nice shotgun and a hi-cap Pistol.

Heh, my brother likes revolvers too, but I can't stand having that small of a capacity for rounds.

What do you have? A semi-auto with 15 round magazines? The truth of the matter is that in a gun fight you try to hit with your second shot. After that your chances of survival signficantly diminish anyways. If you aren't a good shot extra rounds aren't going to help you much.

Well, I practice at the range quite often. It is actually a 16 round magazine, not sure why it takes the 16th round. It is a regular pre-ban hicap Glock 22 mag. Regardless, I'd probably try to hit with my FIRST shot to be honest. Anyway, are we talking gun vs. gun here, or guy with a knife or unarmed? If someone breaks into my house I'd much rather have the extra capacity if I didn't hit him instead of trying to reload. Speedloaders are of course an equalizer, but when that adrenaline hits it is very hard to do something as simple as grab one and put it in. Same with an extra magazine.

I'm not sure about the 22 mag, but I've been told that hi capacity magazines throw the gun off balance, making them less accurate. Personally, I'll take reliability and accuracy over hi capacity any day. If my life is in danger I don't want to end up with a stove pipe or some other jam. I want to be able to just keep pulling right on through in case of a misfire.

But in any event the revolver vs. semi-auto debate will probably rage on forever.

I've never heard that about hi-capacity magazines. There shouldn't be a difference if you practice at the range... like I do. I've put 500 rounds through mine without a jam. I don't expect one anytime soon as I don't use reloads, and I clean my gun.

The PDs seem to like it just fine with high capacity mags. Most modern pistol designs from the major companies are very reliable, Glock in particular.

Inaccuracy in a shooting is more likely to be a result of pucker factor and adrenaline than the inherent accuracy of your weapon. Use a weapon that goes "bang" everytime.

A quality semi-auto pistol will go "bang" many, many times before it fails to do so. The question you need to answer is are you more likely to suffer from a gun that jams, or suffer from holding a (temporarily) unloaded weapon at an inopportune time? In general I lean towards having a larger magazine and quicker reloads, however, if I knew I was going to be getting the gun dirty and beaten up prior to needing it, I'd choose a revolver just for peace of mind.

Well, come on. When you only average 17 hits for every 100 rounds fired, like the police do, and most of those shootings are under 15 feet, I think you too would want more than six shots. At that rate they barely wing one suspect before needing a reload ;)

Maybe because there are kill or be killed situations? There is no such thing as luck, fortune, etc. There is prepared and unprepared, trained and untrained. Without the tools of modern society was built with, how do you expect it to be maintained?

Yup, pretty much.

If & when it comes to it I don't intend to lose.

But damn my ears will hurt when it's over.
