Windows 10 is a wonderful operating system -- the best operating system that Microsoft has ever created.
Oh yeah it sure is... IT SPIES ON THE END USER LIKE CRAZY! (Not just the apps) -- "LETS GET AS MANY AS WE CAN ON THIS OS"

Spying morons!!!

It is amazing that all these people who use Chrome, Android and Facebook are worried that Microsoft is collecting crash reports and other telemetry data. And even if they are collecting key strokes and the other conspiracy theories out there, why are you guys ok with Google and company?

Who says we are ok with those? I personally try my best to avoid Google, and I definitely don't use anything cloud based.

What makes the win10 stuff even worse is the fact that your entire computing experience is vulnerable to it. Its not just a certain site or service spying on you, it's your whole computer. It's pretty much the equivalant to having an FBI agent sitting behind you watching over your shoulder.

I think people don't understand the concept of a personal computer and that an OS shouldn't be doing any of that. It should be an OS. Not a phone, not a tablet. They are NOT the same thing. They each have their use cases. There is zero reason to collect all of that info. I don't need them advertising to me, I don't need them dictating what and when I do things. It should run my system and that is it.

Perhaps at one point you can shut all of that stuff off, but they don't want you to, and will do everything in their power to not inform/let you shut it off. The ONLY reason they even admit any of it (if they even do) is when people find it and make a big deal about it. They are trying to use their OS as a revenue generator instead of an OS. And FFS it doesn't matter that they are giving free upgrades.

I cannot believe this concept is lost on people. FFS.

Masturbation would be so much more fun if an FBI agent were actually staring over my shoulder.

Then just plug in your webcam, sweetheart!

It'll only be an NSA agent, but maybe they have friends in the FBI that meet up for happy hour to "talk" these things over.

Oddly of the big three apple, Google and Microsoft I trust Microsoft with my information the most. I trust Google the least.

Some may find this hard to believe, but of the three, I trust Apple the most. That said, I don't trust any of them. They all do what's best for them, and the only one that'll look after my interests is me.

It's sad because Microsoft was the last hold out. Now they have sold out as well and all that's left is Linux.

Hey now.. Google's motto was "don't be evil" therefore they must be doing only awesome things and not collecting any data that I wouldn't want them to. Otherwise they couldn't use that motto.

Yeah defo going to linux eventually. Just need to switch to an nvidia card and get an SSD to make it worth the bother of reinstalling everything.

Newsflash - your computer has been spying on you for quite a while now.
No, it hasn't. Other computers have been. What you don't do with those other computers, you have to opt in for. And that's the difference. It would be totally different if you could easily opt out of everything, during installation, or in a single form in Control Panel (for per-user settings), and that would stop all the communication from those services.

I'd like a spyware free gaming box, personally, and will be upgrading to Enterprise, when I need to upgrade my Windows box.

Has anybody ever looked at the amount of analytic software that is running on any website? You have been tracked and profiled for years.
